First of all. It was me and my husband that came in asking a table for 4. There was probably about 4 or 5 other tables that had people, who were all white people. Me and my Husband who is considerably dark were put all the way in the back where the window is up the stairs. I know for a fact that they catered to the white clientele better. The waitress came once for drinks and didn't come back for about 20minutes. While we can see her visiting a white people table that came in afterwards every other minute. Finally when she comes she takes the orders and doesn't come back for another 25 minutes for our food. She served us and gave us refills and didn't come back. Mind you we were the only ones in the back top stairs alone until they seated another mexican family behind us. She never came back and it's until after we were done eating for the check and didn't give us time to order flan as she left So my husband and his friend had to walk to the front to order something. The food was decent, some of the meat was too salty, the camaron tostada has too much Ketchup in it, very sweet. The margarita was really great, the flan was okay, it wasn't worth 5 dollars at all. The fried tacos are pretty big, that was our friends order, But the carne asada was very salty he didnt even eat it. The beans are refried and had too much lard in them, which I did not end up eating, the red rice is very bland. My husband Chicken enchiladas were just wierd,no distinguishable taste of what the sauce was. The Horchata is very sweet and has too much vanilla, it was more of a brownish color. The worst service ever. Will...

I am sincerely disappointed with the experience I had at this restaurant. My family has come here for years, but after tonight I will NEVER eat here or support this establishment again. My family and I came here for dinner and immediately experienced poor service. It took over 20 minutes to take and receive our drinks and we were never asked for anything else. In all, we ended up waiting over an hour for the food yet we noticed all the guests around us who had come in more than 15 minutes after, had already eaten and left. My mother politely said excuse me to who she thought was the manager but he ignored her until she tapped him on the shoulder. He then told that he was the owner. After asking the status on our food because we had waited over an hour, he then came back, got into my mothers face and told her she was wrong and had guessed at the time we had waited because they have a timer on the food orders. My mother showed him proof that we had been waiting and he went off on her in front of everyone so we stopd up to leave. He continued to yell at my mother until I asked him not to speak to my mother that way. As we walked out towards the exit he followed us continuing to yell at my mother and the rest of our party in fromt of the entire restaurant. I'm appalled at his disrespectful actions to my mother and I am disappointed that he runs an establishment that condones this behavior. Do not support this business. He should be...

It took a half hour to get our drink order and another 40 to get our food. When we brought it to the manager's attention. He said, "you're wrong you took a guess on how long you've been here. It's only been 31 min" . He was very confrontational to my mother who just wanted a time estimate for our food. He chased us out and we will NOT BE RETURNING, it ruined our weekly family dinner.

Edit: I'm returning to this review and I should hope this manager got anger management or whatever personal problem he had was remedied. I left out my mother shaking from being berated by such a large man about insisting that we had not been served and when we were the food was cold and we were "causing problems". As someone in the industry I would've appreciated the "I'll look into it" or "we're understaffed" rather than insisting we pestered him after only asking once

And I don't leave reviews, and incase you're wondering we were a black multigenerational family, party of 8 with small children and a pregnant woman so imagine our experience to have a local favorite turn so sour after having been a...

This restraint is apart of my life. I love Arroyo Cafe. The twins are casual friends for over 35 plus years. The twins are very respectable men who have put there personal hearts into there business to give people like myself the greatest satisfaction in mexican food in the valley. I love the food they freshly prepare for you whether dinning or take out. If you haven't had the delicious experience of there foil burritos, your behind time and encouraged to order one. Guarantee you'll buy two or more next time. I love you Arroyo. I traveled from East Bay Area Berkley often just for a few burritos. If I were remaining in California I'd continue to do so. If I ever am in the area when visitjng, they already know Much Pablito will be thru. Peace my friends,I love you all there.

Arroyo's Cafe is a wonderful Mexican restaurant on the lake in Stockton, California. The menu includes a wide range of Mexican dishes and meals. This was our first trip to Arroyo's Cafe, the service and food were excellent! The meal was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. You can see the lake from the restaurant and there is a bar, dance floor, and stage set up for the band! Do yourself a favor and give Arroyo's Cafe a try, you'll love it for sure! If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up 👍 Thank you!
