Luu's Chicken Bowl — Restaurant in Stockton

I was looking for a good bowl of white rice and teriyaki chicken so I decided to give this place a try since it was close by. I never knew it was there because it's not visible from any street especially in this busy corner. It is located directly behind the Kelly car wash building and to get into the restaurants' parking lot was a hassle on its own because there are many cars waiting on the road to get a spot to vacuum their cars. Because of this, I had to wait til there was enough space to get into the opposite lane to get to the restaurants drive thru therefore the best advice is don't go when it's too busy at the car wash and if it is just practice good judgment. Anywho, the menu is straightforward and the service provided by the young attendant was great, I think his name was David. When it came to the food that I ordered was a teriyaki bowl and I was a bit let down to be frank. The rice was good but the chicken was not what I expected. It was a bit too hard and the teriyaki sauce was missing flavor even after adding my requested extra sauce side. The bowl came with cabbage, broccoli rice and chicken that again was a bit too dry. I can see myself going here if I want something fast and cheap or was worried about salt intake. The lady working the window did not seem very happy about where she's at in life. I ordered normally and it was going well. I ordered two teriyaki bowls with extra chicken and 2 small drinks. When I got to the window she handed me the drinks but I asked if I can please upgrade to 2 mediums since I did not know they were going to be that small. She closed the window and rolled here eyes and was visibly annoyed that I had asked for such a small request. She came back and handed me both drinks and one of the lids fell off and spilled on me. At that point I was annoyed and just wanted to leave. I get that working fast food can be annoying and stressful but I feel like that lady must be allergic to smiling or something. On top of that this is about the 3rd this has happened. She seemed very depressed or angry and I hope that everything is alright in her life. Something must be upsetting her very much. I don’t live in Stockton but decided to try this place out because I love Teriyaki chicken & hot wings. The reviews were good but my food was not good at all. Absolutely no seasoning on the teriyaki chicken or hot wings. It tasted so bland and I was upset I wasted $17. Even the sauce was thick and reminded me of a jello like consistency. I’ve never seen sauce so light. It was more orange than brown and tasted like…nothing. I was starving so I ate it but I’ll most likely never order here again whenever I’m in town. My expectations were way too high because the Teriyaki spots I frequent are amazing. I’m kicking myself for wasting that money. Honestly, a $5 gas station burrito would’ve tasted better. I have to be real with you readers, especially those that don’t have money to waste. The food was not good at all. I’m a stay at home mom living on a budget so that was a treat for me.
