Me my mother and my daughter stumbled on this place while visiting Stratford, Got to say initial appearance Great Clean environment , very homey vibe, the gentleman working the counter was very pleasant and excited about his product, they make almost all in house which is right up our alley , Got 2 heffers burgers which were. massive and flavorful, that bacon jam is money in the bank ! got the chili dog which was again huge Sabretts hot dog , sorry didn't get to take pictures of burgers they were devoured rather rapidly. The fries were fresh and homemade, great there , lemonade was fresh, if you are into a little more of a tart lemonade this is for you, Got some cornbread donuts with the honey like butter , on point, plus while waiting we were given a banana pudding homemade which was out of this world delicious ! might be our new spot here great friendly service , great food , fresh , sign us up...

Heffer absolutely blew me away. The beef is insanely juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with that ideal crispy edge while staying tender inside. Every bite was packed with flavor — like they injected it with pure satisfaction. The buns? Soft, buttery, and just the right amount of toast. The fries? Crispy gold. Even the little things — like the pickles and sauces — were done right.
You can tell these people care. The staff was chill, the vibe was clean and cool, and the food came out fast. This isn’t just a good burger “for Connecticut” — it’s top-tier anywhere.

Burgers are wildly inconsistent. Flavor, Thickness, temperature, burger assembly, it seems there is little agreement about how things come together.
This place needs management to direct more consistent experience and whoever has real kitchen experience to have better oversight of how things are made and what product goes out.
