StationHouse Wine Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Stratford

My husband made a Valentine's Day reservation for my family. While we were promptly seated, a friendly but overwhelmed waitress walked over 10 min later to ask us for our beverage order. After an additional 20 min we got our bottle of wine but weren't asked about our food order. Nearly 45 minutes into our experience we were finally able to place our dinner order, skipped our appetizers and the bread I requested to hold off my appetite (because I was starving) never made it to my table. At first I tried to be very understanding and sympathetic to the waitress/guest ratio. Although a very small place, and reservations were required, they did not have the staff to appropriately run business. It was unbelievable how many times the waitress walked past our table in a rush but was not able to take our order in a timely fashion. After 2.5 hours later, and countless apologies from the waitstaff, we finally paid and left. And no, despite the apologies we were not offered any dessert, coffee, NADA! I give this place 2 stars because the tasty wine was inexpensive and the Vodka Sauce on my pasta was delicious. My chicken in my pasta was inedible, definitely tough and not fresh. I don't know... I'm hoping to give this place another shot to redeem...

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants to eat at hands down! The whole place is a experience with itself! Its warm inviting atmosphere to actually makes you forget you right there at Stratfords 🚉 train station!! The kind as can be owner, who was nice enough to set us up outside during Covid because I couldn’t sit inside I was about to visit my newborns niece so the owner went out of his way to set us up outside with our own personal heat warmer the whole staff went out of the way for our anniversary dinner! Even though o have multiple positive memories of leaving their with a full belly feeling satisfied with a smile on my face as the atmosphere there is truly warm and inviting and the even have live music some nights! We even took my boyfriends parents their for his moms bday and the have been obsessed ever since! The food is amazing and the variety of American cuisine to sushi which is equally delicious! Last, BUT BY NO MEANS LEAST, I can DRINK THEIR HOUSE MADE DRESSING!! I swear I have written 4 reviews on Google after I submit this one! So it’s truly a restaurant that you must try! Was such a treat to order curbside from StationHouse today! My husband and I finally made it here after moving to Stratford last year. I enjoyed the Amtrak (a Cajun chicken BLT wrap) and my husband, the Conductor (an angus beef burger with cheese, bacon, onions, special mayo). Given the pandemic I decided to splurge and get the fries rather than sub a salad. They were definitely worth it- super crispy and better than most I’ve had. The owner and his wife were so kind and accommodating as I called back to add on an item or two. We had been drawn to StationHouse last summer when we heard the live music and stopped by to check it out. I’m looking forward to returning when restrictions ease up next week and they will be permitted to have outdoor seating.
