I have been to over 100 haunted houses. Here is everything you need to know about Fright Haven.
This haunt is run by people who love all things fun and scary, and a lot is put into their productions.
It is entirely indoors where walk through a large maze in a warehouse. It's the largest indoor haunt in CT, one of the biggest in all of New England. This is great if the weather is wet, cold, etc. But it also leaves something lacking that outdoor venues have. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
I'd rank it 4 out of 5 as far as how scary it is. There are more scary haunts, but this one will make you jump for sure. There's not a great deal of electronics, or mechanical effects, with more effort put into the talent, and creating cool sets. One section has a slew of mirrors that is really trippy, another section is 3D, etc.
It should be known this group is so passionate that they have scares almost year round. When Halloween is over they offer a 18+ event called Blind Rage in early November where the actors can touch you in a completely dark maze you walk through. At Christmas they offer a twisted Christmas haunt, when February comes around they change over to a Bloody Valentine haunt. They've also had St. Patrick's Day, a Friday the 13th summer camp like set, a Halloween in summer haunt, and more that are as fun as they are scary. So if you're someone who can't get enough when Halloween is over, follow them on social media. These "off season" haunts frequently sell out (believe it or not) so make sure you plan and buy...

For the price that you pay ($30 for standard entry), they got me good quite a few times. We went on a Friday night towards the end of October. We got there at 8:30 and waited around 30 minutes on the general line. The scare actors while waiting really set the mood! The walkthrough itself was about 20 minutes, there were plenty of actors coming at you from all over.
Only complaints I had were that they combined groups of people to make groups of 8, so our group of 4 got paired with 4 other people. Luckily we were in the front, but would have been upset if we were in the back of the group. The rooms weren't big enough to get the full group in the rooms at once, so often the front would get scared before the back would be able to see. The other thing was that some of the actors were just standing in the middle of the rooms so you knew they were going to scare you. I'd love to see them take more advantage of dark spaces and hiding spots.
Overall, good haunt for the price especially if you're looking for something fun to do during halloween season! We'll...
Read moreWhat a waste of time. We bought the Groupon which gave us VIP, which was a good thing because I'd have been even more mad if we waited in line for this nonsense. The ONLY part that was good was the 3D clown section, and that's only because the paint/effect was awesome, not the scare factor. This wasn't scary AT ALL, the "actors" either tried too hard or didn't try at all and one guy with fuzzy hair was just creepy... And not in a good way. Very disappointed, especially since it took an hour and a half to get there from where we live, and total time inside the attraction was maybe 15-20 mins at the most. Also, as a side note, there really needs to be better signage out by the roads because unless you look at the small print on the website, it's very hard to find. If I could've given it zero stars I would have but unfortunately that is not an option. I DO NOT recommend this "attraction" at all, especially if you're looking for something scary. It would be better off left where it was the past few years....not...
