Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Streetsboro

As you know, I prefer to share great experiences. Unfortunately, I cannot here. This was, by far, the worst Applebee's visit I have ever had. It started when our food took extraordinarily long to come to the table. The excuse was "everybody's orders came in at once." Well, the place was only a quarter full at 8:30 pm and we had no visits by our waitress to keep us posted so I must question that excuse. Then, my son who had ordered a classic cheeseburger with nothing on it, received a hamburger with full condiments. The waitress, who may have been new, said a he could get him a piece of cheese or have it redone. I had her redo it. When it came back out, it was delivered by a manager who simply said "Sorry for the wait." He then asked if I needed anything else, ignoring the third member of our party completely. That cheeseburger stood alone on the plate with not even any fries as a nice way to say sorry. By the way, the amount of fries which accompanied my burger and his original one were less than what one receives at Red Robin. After the bill came and I put down the cash aside, the waitress returned and asked for the bill. Again, she must have been new and not well-trained as how she asked for it seemed more like a "give me the money" statement rather than a "may I take that for you?" statement. But if that manager trained her, I am not surprised. Yes, I did leave a tip (15%) as that is how some of these folks live, but that is the last money I will ever spend at that location. I will NOT recommend this place. We ended up there after a very long day because the Bob Evans, which we frequent when in that area, next to it closed at 8:00 pm. I now know that if Bob Evans is closed and we are hungry,...

I admit it: i was a little extra anxious eating out during a pandemic. Lots of people, lots of hands on and near my food which aren't mine. But i had family in town. We were tired. Hungry. Seemed like a sorta reasonable risk. And honestly, this Applebees was bearing up under the weight of covid-19 better than i expected. It looked and smelled clean, there was a sensible layout where some tables were, and others were not, being used so that distancing was..not perfect, but as good as i think is reasonable in a restaurant. Minimal germ collecting stuff on the table, disposable menus. The food was hot and tasty. The employees were great. Friendly host. Server was that perfect balance of attentive but you don't need a flyswatter. My family asked a lot of questions. A. Lot. Of. Questions. And she was perfectly patient, knowledgeable, and kind. (Thank you, Sam!) I have just one small complaint, but it was just a bother enough that i feel the need to mention it. It really wasn't busy at all. 3 people at the bar watching baseball and drinking. A lone guy at a table who had coffee and - it looked like - dessert. A family our size (4) several booths away. And still... Our meals took forever to come. Drinks came...apps came... And then a truly unreasonable according to every one of us (and that other family) crazy long wait. Everything else was great, so i won't conplain too loud. 4 out of 5 stars fir, truly, a nice job. But Applebees - you HAVE customers. Yay! And you were neither slammed nor empty. Tame 8pm dinner and baseball on the tvs. It would be nice if you showed some appreciation and insist your kitchen staff feed us in...

We came in sat down waited almost 10 minutes for our waitress to come to our table. When she finally came over we orderd our drinks and food at the same time because we were already ready. We didn't get our drinks for another 15 minutes the hostess even came and asked if we had been taken care of we said yes but its been 25 mins and we still hadn't got our drinks she told us she would get the manager. The manager comes over apologizes and walks away. The manager came back with our waitress to bring the food out and then does not come back the rest of the time we are there to see if things got any better which it did not. Multiple times our drinks were completely empty for 5-10 mins before the waitress would even come back. We had to ask our waitress to take the empty plates and cups off our table which she took the plates and left the cups another server took the empty cups. The waitress kept going over to another table with other servers and not doing anything just over there talking instead of checking on our table another table that she had had to get up and get their own boxes. When we decided that we had had enough of the bad service we waited another 10 minutes for her to come over to see if we needed anything and we told her we needed boxes and our checks and we specifically told her how it needed to be separated because we had two different orders and she still messed that up. When she brought the check over the correct way she had charged us for food that we did not order at that point we asked for the manager again. This was the worst service we have...
