My husband and I have been customers at Goldie's since the time we have moved to Strongsville. One of the things that we have enjoyed was the 30.00 dollar apple pies that are sold at the establishment. We have bought many pies and enjoyed every one of them. However, yesterday, I invited my family over and served a pie that we purchased for the occasion. Within two bites, the company noticed that the pie was not very good. I told them “not to worry or judge” Goldie's apple pie based on the negative experience. I thought we would be able to return the pie and receive a proper replacement. Or, at the least, exchange the half of the pie that we had not thrown out with a replacement half that was not awful. The owner, Mounir Ina, said “what am I supposed to do with that?”. Further, he said it was not his problem, did not care and said “sorry honey,” and was extremely rude and disrespectful .The truth of the matter is we received a pie with sour apples and with clumps of hard, granulated sugar not thoroughly mixed in that again truly tasted awful. Further, knowing these apple pies so well, my husband and I could tell that it had at least twice the amount of sugar. I question how any establishment could possibly feel that it is right to serve a subpar product and then expect that the customer will not complain or be disappointed. I even asked the owner to try the pie for himself to see but Mounir Ina refused. And, worse he did not offer a refund for the awful product. Honestly, the worse part of this offense is that my husband and I would have continued to be loyal customers for many years. One act of customer service would have solved this problem but rather any ear that will listen will know of our...
Read moreGood food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
The Frank Sinatra was good, loaded with tons of extremely thin sliced turkey, but it was missing something, like tomato lettuce or mustard. I like that it came with a nice soft kaiser roll instead of on toast that would destroy the roof of your mouth. The side salad was good, it had just a little bit of incredibly thin sliced red onion so it was overbearing. The salmon was good but holy smoke, the mashed potatoes and gravy were the real MVP. I had half a mind to ask for their recipe.
The host and server was super nice and friendly. The owner came out from the back and was talking with a table of guests. The food and drinks were out fast.
The atmosphere was good. There was a nice mural on the wall. Seating was designed for maximum capacity. Everything seemed newer and clean. The walls could definitely use some touch-up from the scratches, dents, missing paint, and kids' crayon markings. When you walk in, you can go left for takeout or right for dining. With the deli counter and menu on the left, I can imagine this place is packed during the day. The clientele is definitely old, 70s and 80s+. We were the youngest people there by 3 decades easily. There was good music playing like Stevie Nicks, Johnny Cash, The Eurythmics, and Fleetwood Mac. We...
Read moreThis actually might be the worst deli that I have ever been to. I walked in and asked if I could take out a sandwich. I ask for a hero bread. I have never before heard of anyone who doesn't know what a hero bread is. The man at the counter had no idea. Then, I asked what types of turkey they had. The woman simply stared back and could not respond. So finally I just order a turkey sandwich on a "sub". This was possibly the worst tasting sandwich I've ever had. I wouldn't be surprised if the sandwich was frozen and they simply took it out of the freezer and handed it to me. Not only did the turkey taste awful and looked laminated, but there was no bread on the bottom of my sandwich! They can't even make the sandwich correctly! I am never going back to Goldie's deli, and I would not recommend anybody ever getting food there in their life. I would actually recommend that the place close down, because it is a disgrace to have the word "deli"...
