Kitty O'Reillys Irish Pub is proof that looks can be deceiving. The place is gorgeous — inside and out. The décor is stunning, the outdoor patio surrounded by lush plants is picture-perfect, and you walk in expecting an amazing dining experience. And then… you actually eat here. The service? Nonexistent. Our server walked by our table six times without so much as a glance. When we finally waved her down like we were stranded on an island, she acted annoyed that we dared to ask for a refill, a box, and our check. To top it off, she spilled ranch all over the floor at another table and just… left it there. Nothing says “welcome” like dodging puddles of dressing on your way out. The food was just as bad. The highlight of the meal — and I wish I were joking — was the side salad. Why? Because the greens were fresh and the tomatoes actually had flavor. The “homemade ranch” was tasty but so watery it could have been bottled as skim milk. The fish tasted like it skipped the “clean me” step before hitting the pan, the garlic potatoes were undercooked little rocks with zero flavor, and the braised beef was literally slapped on mashed potatoes and then drowned in enough gravy to sink a small boat. This place came highly recommended, which makes the reality even sadder. Kitty O'Reilly Irish Pub has the looks of a five-star spot, but the food and service land it somewhere between a bad diner and a tourist trap. Beautiful setting, wasted potential.

We were looking for a dinner place to go to and lot of the Sturgeon Bay locals recommended this restaurant so we decided to try it. We went here with family, even though this is a pub. They have good indoor and outdoor dining seating. The place gets packed with locals, which tells you they are good. We decided to order various appetizers instead of ordering entrees for everyone, and that was the best thing to do here. The service was fast and good. Our server Connor was very friendly and fast. The lamb chops were a bit undercooked and chewy, but the rest of the food was great. Their Buffalo mac and cheese was good with big chicken nuggets on top, but the 5 cheese mac and cheese was very cheesy. The calamari and nacho was delicious, while the boneless chicken with multiple sauces were amazing. You should try the bang bang sauce which was a mix of sweet and spicy flavor. The nachos have beef Chilli on it so I do not recommend it for vegetarians. Overall a great place to eat when in town. I would go back there again and have Connor serve us.

We were on vacation in Door County, staying in Sturgeon Bay, and were trying to find restaurants that allowed you to bring your dog. I found Kitty’s Irish Pub on the “Bring Fido” app. Not only do they allow you to bring your dog, they also make it an experience for your dog. Our server brought out a bowl of water for our dog, and they also have these little cots that your dog can lay on and relax while you’re enjoying dinner. This is the most pet friendly restaurant I have ever been to-and we greatly appreciated the effort they put into making him feel welcome. Our server and food were great too! We ordered the snake bites for an appetizer, and I had the opened face Reuben, and my husband had the corned beef and cabbage. The food came out pretty quickly and the portions are pretty big. Everything tasted great and was priced reasonably compared to other places in the area. We would definitely come back here when visiting Door County again!

Lively crowd, outdoor seating, effective management. We were seated immediately, but soon there was a wait for an outdoor table. During our meal, the next table became available and a fairly imposing gentleman who was a customer in the outdoor bar area claimed it. When the young server informed him that there was a waiting list, and that they could show him another table inside, the customer insisted on staying at the table he had claimed. The reason I'm telling you this: it could have developed into a very ugly scene OR could have resulted in the restaurant conceding to the demands of this imposing customer. INSTEAD, we heard management explain very calmly the reason the customer would need to relinquish the table ... waiting list, busy night, fairness, etc. Because the situation was escalated to management immediately, and handled effectively by management, the customer conceded and went back to the outdoor bar to wait his turn for a table, and order was once more restored. It was a relief to us, and an impressive show of support for the wait staff and fairness in general. The food we ordered was served cheerfully, the server was attentive and efficient. The clam chowder was delicious, not too thick or thin, and contained lots of clam pieces. The salmon sandwich was better without the bread, but that's a personal choice; the salmon was beautifully cooked. The corned beef sandwich was quite greasy, but had only a moderate amount of fatty waste. The side salad was fresh. We enjoyed the non-alcoholic...

I unfortunately had a fairly bad experience here. I think this place has potential, or maybe was amazing in it's heyday, but it really didn't feel like an Irish pub outside of shamrock decorations and Guinness on tap. We were sat inside next to the door leading to outside seating, which squeaked loudly every time someone went through it, which was constant. (Maybe oil the hinges for a change?) The floor there has worn down so much from traffic that it shook me in my chair whenever someone went by to go outside or come back in. Again, CONSTANT.

I ordered the walleye and it tasted like it came from the bottom of a sewage pipe. It was either really old, or not walleye. I've had fresh walleye and oh man I was so saddened by this plate. Fries have an upcharge of $3 from kettle chips! (Not to mention the 3% surcharge they'll pass on to you on top of that) You get that these are both potato right? Are your fries some special rare potatoes that justify ripping off your customers?

Service was fine, though our waitress said she would bring the manager and they never came to apologize or speak to us. At the end of the meal, we had to wait about 10 minutes for the check.

Maybe if you sat outside and ordered a burger and soda, you'd like this place more, as how can you screw...
