With its striking steel framework and vintage design, the Michigan Street Bridge embodies the timeless beauty of Door County. I remember the first Steel Bridge Songfest in 2005 and am so thankful this icon was saved. #SturgeonBay #SteelBridge #DoorCounty #IndustrialArt #EngineeringMarvel #DiscoverWisconsin #WeWisconsin #TravelWisconsin

The Michigan Road Bridge is a historic bridge in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, United States. The bridge was built in 1929 and opened on July 4, 1931, with a major service, where it was officially dedicated to the Door District Veterans Memorial. The plaque at the top still says "To honor those who served their country, in a time of need" as a gift from the State of Wisconsin. It is the only bridge connecting the mainland to the northern Door District after the train/toll collection didn't stop working. Sturgeon Bay Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 17, 2008 because of the length and length of its unique upper lift. After page five of the network struggled to save the tree from being demolished and replaced in kind, the state decided to add a second sister tree to meet safety standards. In September 2008, following the inauguration of a new, song, two-lane tree that was inaugurated one block from Oregon, the historic bridge was closed to allow for duplicate work from scratch. Federal safety standards require the replacement of lanes to respond to application loads of large and congested interfaces that do 3,000 bridge openings annually. Bridge history and new operation the bridge as a system. The historic bridge was reopened in spring 2011.

The Steel Bridge. A great way to get close to the canal, and experience the bite of a North wind off the lake. I really enjoy the rumble and bone rattle of standing on the wooden section as cars speed by. You get up close and personal with the machinery of an old(1939) lift bridge. Do the circuit bridge walk- Steel Bridge and the Oregon Street Bridge. You also get a good view of the Selvig tugs and the shipyard. Check the marine report and you might be able to see an ore boat slide by. Right under your...

Michigan Street Bridge, Oregon Maple Bridge, and Sturgeon Bay View Bridge are run by the same bridge master. (S)he does an amazing job multi-tasking. The Michigan Street Bridge opens every hour and every half hour. The Bay View Bridge opens when you call. A boater needs to call the bridge master no matter what! These people do a...
