Came in for our 2nd visit in a month. The first we waited over a hour for our food after watching our server Carey make sure she texted whomever was important, she brought our food and said sorry it just came in the window (it was all cold) the manager (young guy long hair) was super nice let us know she’s just having a rough night... we still was more then generous with the tip although we basically wasted the food because it was tossed out. Second time was today 4/26/19 and we showed up about 6:10 p.m and got sat, the hostess was a sweetheart and we thought she was our server and then realized.... it was “Carey or Kerri” again. Hey second chances are the best right? Figured let’s start with a clean slate. She comes over smiling takes our drink order... cool, comes right back with our drinks for us and our 3 kids. #Boom that’s when it happens...... we didn’t see her again for 15 minutes before we asked the hostess whom went and got who.... the manager with long hair who let us know “Carey/Kerri” had an emergency and left but forgot to tell anybody we were left over there! He seems to maybe have a thing for her from what we can tell. He asks us to please stay and they will get us another server. We agreed now it’s been 25 min that we’ve been sitting here. Our new server comes over, sweetheart but coughing and wiping her face with her forearm, but hey we’re starving so who cares. She takes our order, refills my sweet tea, but I guess forgot the sweet part 🤢 lol. We all order our food, 15 minutes later she comes back to let us know they just let her know they didn’t have ribs (My sons order) and apologizes. He says it’s ok and orders chicken Parmesan with the noodles, which my daughter had already ordered, 15 minutes later a new manager comes by to let us know they don’t have noodles.... wow.... so what my daughter ordered 30 min prior they didn’t have them we didn’t even know until our son ordered it also. At this point we asked for the check so we could go elsewhere literally a hour later with no food. Came to Ruby Tuesdays got the salad bar right away and ordered for the win!!!! #NeverAgain Applebee’s is the nearest to our house but we will never be back! That literally was the last straw. Bad when the manager says we’re trying to get new people in and fire some that we have. Not my business nor my problem what ever happened to customer service. We still smile and are courteous and never create hassle but just take...
Read moreFood was great. Service was was terrible. Let's break it down Entered from side entrance, no sign indicating that we were to head to the main entrance. After standing there for about 10 minutes assuming on of the two servers on who both made eye contact with our group would sit us, we were eventually told by a customer that she over heard the bartender tell the floor server that we weren't going to get sat unless we made it to the front. Why neither server told us is beyond me. After finally being sat it was about another 10 mins before we were greeted by the server(who wouldn't sit us) to get our drink order. Pretty simple, 2 chocolate milks, 2 sodas and a Draft Blue moon(which the party member had to go to the bar to find out for himself what was on draft as the severt didn't know.) We finally got our drinks (took a hit longer as the server had to run food, but what ever.) But the Blue moon was missing. About 15 mins after that our guest had ask to speak to a manager as the bartender was no where to be found and there was no Blue Moon. Manager finally bring the blue moon out. Without an orange which was specifically requested(and general practice with blue moons.) By this time we had already been in restaurant for roughly 45 mins before our order was even taken. We finally got our food which was hot and delightful. No complaints there. Thanks chef. The manager did comp the ticket some for the unusually slow drink delivery, but what really irked me was the server waiting at the table until the ticket was tipped and totaled.
I've been a server. No steps of service were applied. The managers should have been on the floor with their team if their team couldn't handle the 7 tables in the restaurant. FOH definently needs a hosting refresher or more competent servers.
I tipped 20% as I know that's how servers make their income but it was definently not worth it. Save yourself some headache and just hit the Mexican restaurant...
Read moreWe were seated right away. That was about the only good experience there. After sitting there 5 minutes our waitress came and took our order. We placed food and beverage order. My son ordered an alcoholic drink and I ordered an unsweetened tea. Our appetizer arrived before our drinks did. Then his drink showed and I still had to wait another 3 minutes to get my unsweetened tea. I asked for utensils from one lady and she said they didn't have any and asked if I wanted plastic. She didn't even look. I said I need something to eat my chicken Alfredo. She gave Mr 2 sets of plastic utensils. When out food finally arrived (and still no waitress to get a refill) my son asked the server for utensils and she grabbed them from the hostess station. The only thing good about my food was the chicken on top of the dried noodles that probably sat under a heat lamp and had no taste of sauce what so ever. The broccoli was super soggy. Very nasty. The only part I could stomach was my chicken. When I said something the waitress said corporate is watching them so she can't do anything about my food so disappointing. Will not be going back there and most definitely won't recommend anyone going there. So sad because normally my son and I love Applebee's.
Update: I gave them another chance but went during lunch. I had a much better time this time. Selena our waitress was a delight and made sure our drinks were filled and food out in a timely manner. I even called for the manager over to let her know I had a much better experience this time. I may visit...
