This review is solely based on today's 7/24/19 experience. I should have known when I walked in they were not eager to work. To start I'm all for breaks and personal cell phone usage as emergencies can occur and people are entitled to breaks by law but when multiple employees are sitting and doing nothing that is concerning. The person I will discuss was not only on her BLUE cell phone, I observed it in her hand after making my sandwich when she rang me up and saw her swiftly jump back on it and go to the back where the phone order drive thru is to be out of site. But isn't she supposed to working? Moving forward to the actual experience for a sandwich. Normally I go to this location at least 2 to 3 times a week. Most times if not all service is on point and I leave with a smile. Sarah is awesome and so are a few others but not this girl. I dislike her attitude greatly as she does not seem happy with her job as evident by this lackluster sandwich. So I ordered a mini 7 with EXTRA cheese, thinly sliced for meat and cheese. She initially put 2 measly slices and said " 1 extra is extra cheese". I explained well its thinly sliced and generally is more than this. I know. I'm there often and this is how I always order my sandwich. So she slaps 1.5 extra slices (.5 for the half of cheese placed) with a non verbal attitude. Then proceeds to put a minimal amount of meat on it. So little there is more bread than meat. If summed up and not thin slice I'm not sure how much it was but it was not alot. At this point I was over it. The sandwich was a mustard sandwich with no meat. Then to watch her ring my food up with her blue cell phone in her other hand. While I may come back here, she needs more training especially in customer service. So for today this service was just terrible. And I'm highly disappointed. I have pictures of this poorly made sandwich for reference too bad I cannot post it. Don't go when the young black girl with glasses is working. She is very nonchalant and does not seem to happy with her job...
Read moreUpdate 9/1/22 from 3 to 5 stars! We continue to go inside. This is our favorite JM location because of continued high quality and they strive to make our subs like we like them with no signs of irritation even through our asking for tweaks or more veggies. That is the hallmark of professionalism! These are the best subs in Hampton Roads! Super appreciate the young lady who makes our subs so delicious and all these guys who make this location the best! We may try online ordering again! Thank you!
It's crazy! I've had mixed experiences here. Mostly really good, but a couple times my online order requesting lots of vegetables was made with fewer than normal. So frustrating because online ordering is suppose to be quick and convenient! This place has the potential to be THE premier sub shop in Hampton Roads based on the quality ingredients, but it needs above standard employees to facilitate this. You wonder if they care, if they read the online special requests, or what??? It doesn't seem that difficult! So we started going back inside to order. First time back in, a few months ago, the guy made our sub beautifully, but he had no apron on and his soiled shirt tails were rubbing all over the sub on the counter! Gaaaahhh!!! What gives! We've been back since then and it was really good, except please wipe off that meat slicer regularly. One young lady, very nice, but she would drop our meat slices on that dirty machine and put it on our sandwich with the remnants of other shaved meat crumbs. Not ok. I just hope this inspires management to develop some structured procedures and train staff better because this place could be the best...
Read moreWow I don't normally write reviews but after experiencing the worst attitude I've seen from someone in customer service, I had to. The girl Semione that was making my sandwich should of been sent home from work to change her attitude. She had a terrible p'd off look on her face from the moment I walked in so I smiled at her and she cut her eyes at me. Then the manager/supervisor prepared the first part of my sandwich and slid it down for her to put toppings on and went to the back of the store. I waited a few minutes while she was topping a previous order. Then the manager came back out front and said to me she wants to know what you want on your sandwich. I thought that was strange, I was standing right there, so was she, but she wouldn't even speak to me. She just stood there looking mad. Then she rang me up, dropped (not placed) my sandwich in a bag and I said thank you and smiled again, she didn't speak again, cut her eyes again and looked away. This my first time in this Jersey Mikes as I just moved to the area this week. I won't be spending any more of my money here and hope the manager sees this review because her behavior was unacceptable. You shouldn't tolerate an employee treating customers so rudely. Her attitude stunk so bad you should have sent her home and told her that behavior will not be tolerated and if you don't change your bad attitude you won't...
