I was so excited to try this bagel place instead of having to drive into Houston for bagels. I should have saved my money and just took the drive. I ordered a dozen blueberry bagels with strawberry cream cheese. The bagels looked like they used some type of blueberry flavoring because the bagels were very purple tinted. They had no real pieces of blueberry anywhere in the bagel. And they did not taste like blueberry. It was the weirdest taste that I couldnāt figure out. I was hoping to put enough strawberry cream cheese on it to cover the weird tasting bagels but no. The cream cheese tasted like regular cream cheese with pink food coloring. It had absolutely no strawberry flavor at all. What a wasted 40 bucks. Next time I will not chance it and just drive on to Houston to get good bagels. Not to mention that they didnāt ask of the bagels were to be sliced so I assumed that they would be. Wrong again. We sliced two and threw...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI relocated to Sugar Land from Long Island, NY last October and was resigned to have to give up the authentic, delicious bagels that NY is known for. That is until I found Bagel Express in Sugar Land. They did not disappoint. The owner, Barry, a great guy with a great sense of humor and New York personality with the accent and all has recreated a piece of NY in TX. If you're living in the Sugar Land/Houston area and you're from NY, you must try Bagel Express. You'll feel like you're back in NY with the authentic NY deli experience. The bagels are phenomenal, (with the texture, chew and all), and the sandwiches are incredible too. The staff is friendly and very efficient. I recommend the lox and cream cheese sandwich on an everything bagel as well as the bacon, egg and cheese with saltpeppaketchup. Outstanding! It will be my regular place for sure. Bagel Express is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCash or check only...wow where are we in the Stone Age? When you can go to outdoor concerts, flea markets, small local arts festivals, etc and pay with a card, and this place runs a full time eatery and trying to save a .5c transaction cost or whatever it is. Sorry you just lost a potential customer, I had noticed this place driving by, Iām a big bagel fanatic, and decided to drive out there today for a good 20 minutes out of my way. I ordered a bagel and the cashierās impolite response was āthatās it, just a bagelā. So I choose another bagel, and he says āthatās it?ā. Mind you this is my first time visiting and he could probably tell as Iām looking around at the bagels and a bit lost as to what they offer. Then I see the sign, and I was shocked that they donāt take cards in this day and age, so I left, and wonāt waste my...
