I am going to write a critical post of Vino Vinyl with the specific purpose of maintaining and elevating the quality of life for we Sugar Land Fort Bend County residents. My purpose is for all restaurants and in particular Vino Vinyl to keep their standards high and to respect their clientele.
Here is what happened. Last night my wife and I reserved a seat at this restaurant. Once there we ordered a cheese block and a bottle of wine, both which were excellent. Once done we decided to look at the menu and order an entree to share. We chose the most expensive item on the menu, short ribs. After the plate arrived and we took a bite we quickly realized that it was not short ribs, but rather some sort of shank. I called the waiter and pointed out that the meat was not ribs but in fact a cheaper cut. He apologized and explained that he would go back and speak with the chef.
Upon his return he indicated that the meat was indeed not ribs but shank and that this was the special way that they cooked it. When I complained he immediately apologized and we ordered something else instead.
Later the manager came to speak with us and apologized. It was evident that the staff made a sincere effort to rectify the situation. In the end we were pleased with our visit and will return to this establishment.
But! Here is my point! The perception seems to be that because we are from Sugar Land and not Montrose or River Oaks that we may not be sophisticated enough to distinguish a selection of meat if it is cooked deliciously (the shank was delicious). No one should not be charged for a higher quality cut and then be served the cheapest or something different. Perhaps this had been done before and there had never been a complaint and that is why they tried to pass it off.
If the quality of our lives as clients in Sugar Land is allowed to be undermined in a somewhat less than direct manner then we all pay the price in the end.
Finally, I want to reiterate that my purpose is not to slam this establishment but rather to keep all of the restaurants in our community on their toes and to respect the integrity of and to not take for granted those they serve. This is the only way to maintain high quality and standards for our community.
We will return to Vino Vinyl happily in the future. Over all it is a...

I started my night going out for a quick bite. I had already picked up some food before I was invited out to this bar. I had never been here, so I said, why not? My friend said it has a classy feel to it, I was in business casual so that was appropriate. When I arrived, I felt that it wouldnt be appropriate to bring a foreign dish inside so we decided to sit outside at one of their tables while I listened to my friend talk. About 10 min or so in, a tall gentleman with glasses approached our table. I was going to order some wine but instead I was greeted something along the lines of "no outside food at our tables, we sell food here" and then he walked off. I didnt even get to order wine. The first time he had come by, we couldn't hear him too well. He was a little more clear the 2nd time.
My initial positive experience immediately went sour. The impression I received from this business was entitlement. I felt as if, this guy was hired to walk around to tell customers what they can/can't do. The classy feeling I initially had also went sour. It went from a nice bar, to a bistro.
If it isnt in the business' best interest, at least conduct effective customer service about it. My experience may have been a fluke... but it was a bad fluke. Lost my current, future business and referrals as well.... thanks.
Update:
owner asked me to reach out... but there does not seem to be a way to reach out. Honestly, I just feel more frustrated by the fact this process isnt easy. I went to the website to submit an inquiry, ive waited a week so far with no response. I dont honestly believe the front door is ideal for a...
Read moreVery poor service! Visited this location last Friday with a friend for the first time and the staff was stuck up, full of attitude, and the service was very slow. We had to ask the servers several times on the status of our water! Yep, water. While we were enjoying our frozen sangria (which is why we came in the first place), we say the staff pour in a new batch during peak, busy happy hour on Friday night when the batch was even barely half way. When we asked for another round of sangrias, the staff said we will have to wait about 45 minutes to an hour, so we asked them to provide a complimentary drink while we wait to purchase another round since that is why we were there in the first place.Their so called manager that night, Linc, was the worst manager I have come across. He isn't equipped for management by any stretch of the imagination. We asked to speak to him three times and he kept sending his staff to speak to us. They argued and refused the request and didn't acknowledge their poor customer service from the get go. Wanted to give them a chance, but we should've left immediately after once we realized we had to ask for a serving of water several times. Never coming back here. The Missouri City location was great, but sadly it is now...
