Seriously disappointing! I am staying in Sulphur Springs for work for two weeks. I noticed when assigned to work here, that getting decent food was going to be a challenge in this this town as there isn't even a Chipotles, if that gives you an idea. When I saw Chili's, I thought maybe I found my go to spot because they have decent salads and other food options. Nope, the service is atrocious, the atmosphere is packed and smaller than your average Chili's. I walked in and there was another group in front of me and no one ever came up to acknowledge us for the first 5 mins. Being annoyed, I decided to sit at the bar. The only shinning light was the bartender, he did his job well.
I ordered a salad, this shouldn't take more than 10 mins, 15 absolute tops. I waited 30 mins. While waiting, I started to feel the cold sink into my bones and my feet were numb. The guy next to me asked if it was him or was it cold. A waitress came up and he told her and she said "why don't you get up and work for a while." I know she was somewhat kidding, but sorry your customers comfort comes before the staff, or you have no job. Then another group came in and instantly brought up how cold it was and the table next to them said the same thing, everyone was freezing and I mean truly frigid. It got brought up to another waiter, he also talked about how it was fine as he was working. He told the manager who gave a smart reply in return. I have been a bit chilly in a restaurant before, but it was honestly warmer outside at night in March. I will not go back, I'd rather eat any quick food I can get our of Walmart than this Chili's at this point. Also management, please do not respond and tell me how sorry and how much you care, as I have seen your response to others on here, because if you truly cared, you'd change your business model and greet customers at the door--that's easy and get food out quicker. Also you don't need to hear back from me, this review says it all. It's just too bad you are so busy because you don't deserve the business with such...
Read moreI came in tonight with my Aunt and Uncle. We eat here regularly and usually have a great experience. Tonight was a different story. We were greeted by the Host who informed us that there were 2 cooks and there would be a wait for food service. We understood and were ok with a wait as it was New Years Eve. After noticing there were at least 6 empty booths and 4 empty tables we inquired if we could at least be seated and it was fine if we had to wait for the food. The very rude door guy said that wasn't possible because if he seated us "it will make everything take alot longer". After watching several couples walk in and refuse to wait crowded at the front door while there were empty seats and leave, I told the host "You do understand that groups are walking out?" To which he replied, "Oh well, the kitchen is backed up." We finally decided to sit in the bar area after we watched a few people being able to walk in, walk up and sit at the bar and order food. As I walked over to collect a menu, said rude door guy replied, "So,you can go ahead and seat yourself but you still can't order food." I found this unprofessional and extremely rude that this person who is greeting your guest has such an unpleasant and rude demeanor to locals who frequent this restaurant for years. I also am appalled that whomever was managing was ok with Chili's losing out on several groups worth of business other than put them into the many empty seats that were available. Horrible management and choice of door person tonight. Do better Chili's. Turning people away while you have empty seats available is crazy and bad...
Read moreI worked here 5 years ago and if I walked back in today I would recognize faces in all parts of the house that have never left or have came back. As an employee, Chili's was nothing short of a ride. It had its downs, such is the case anywhere you go, but there were far more ups in comparison.
As a consumer who has also worked in various other resturaunts, I can say the food is delivered mostly as your average cookie cutter pre-portions that are made ready to feed you within 15 minutes of ordering. However, this has nothing to say about the quality, and more to say about their preperation for their usually filled dining area in between noon and nine.
This corporate giant in the food industry may seemingly bear a cold corporate touch that you'd might experience in other establishments that are not like a small business, but I still believe that this chilis has good intentions for its community, as it really is a lot less formal than most companies. A top of all this, Deborah has worked with organizations to fundraise for non-profit chairties, and the general staff truly couldnt represent the diversity that we have in Sulphur Springs any better. Well done - and never stop developing, Chili's in Sulphur Springs.
"Do you want to go to Chilis?" Yassss chili's sounds sooo...
