Staff wasn’t very welcoming on my most recent visit. It wasn’t busy at the time and I know the gal at the counter was both making and ringing up drinks (with 1-2 others in back for food, I think). A bit disappointing to feel like you’re an inconvenience or not appreciated as a customer after driving 20 minutes to enjoy a coffee flight. I had to go up to the counter to ask for the pastry i paid for and was given it on a plate with no silverware to eat it (one of the mini cakes) but didn’t feel like ‘bothering’ employees, fearing an eye roll if I would :( Charcuterie boxes weren’t in that morning, the other true bummer. Not sure if they’re being served anymore but won’t go out of my way to travel that far for a relaxing ‘me’ morning again. Staff was also a bit gossipy about a former employee or someone they knew so we could all hear. Yikes. Guy at the table next to me said he felt a tense vibe in there and didn’t stay very long, despite bringing his laptop. As a former barista, I loved what I did and making someone’s day with such small gestures like smiling and making them feel welcomed. Fall flight was also very watery that day. Not sure what was going on but I’d been waiting weeks to return and not really enjoying the experience. I’d rather travel over to the Arts District coffee shops than down here again any time soon, despite my love of supporting female-owned businesses. Hope this is taken to heart as coffee shops have the opportunity to make someone’s entire day just by being...
Read moreLet me start off by saying we used to come here regularly, but I’m not sure what’s going on or if there’s just an overall lack of care or apathy across the board, but there’s no sense or urgency from any employee anymore… waiting over 7 mins for one person to take the order of the customer in front of me? I get you’re making niche drinks, but no customer should stand for over 5 mins without their order being taken when it’s not swamped. I’d there was a giant line and every table was full I could understand but come on… twice now I’ve come here and it’s like pulling teeth to get any sort of urgency from the employees, mixing drinks like they’re at home and taking their time, chatting, moving slowly, does no one care about the work they do anymore? Normally I don’t write reviews for something so trivial but for it to happen twice now, it’s just a pattern at this point and speaks to the training of the employees.
Theres hundreds of coffee shops, and this one has amazing drinks, but unless you go in when it’s dead and there’s no one there, you’re going to have to put aside 20 mins… for a simple drink is just ridiculous. Hopefully they figure things out because it’s been a slow starts decline in service.
We went at 11:10 am on 11/9… so to the two blond girls who were moving like molasses and spending 10 mins on 2 matcha drinks… I’ve never seen anyone stare and analyze so intently on one drink before.
Don’t think we will be coming here anymore; which sucks cause the...
Read moreIf you are expecting a fast coffee morning experience don’t come here…we waited in line for two coffees for 15 minutes only to wait 30 minutes longer for the coffee to get to us. Overall time waiting for two coffees was an hour. Their focus are coffee flights, which sounds like a good idea except that they prioritize them over everything else. A toasted bagel would have added 15 minutes to our wait time. Good idea poorly executed.
**Unfortunately we traveled from out of state for a work meeting and saw that your shop was trending. Despite being completely out of our way we were excited for the coffee flights and great reviews we were seeing- (However I guess you can sell out of coffee flights)? Would love to say I could give it a second chance but it was not the best situation for a tourist town. No one counts on going viral overnight and I get that, but I wish that ya'll were more prepared for that influx. I wish the best for you and your...
