I’ve been coming here for years, and usually don’t have any issues. That being said, this experience made me feel bad enough to write this review in hopes to have the staff reevaluate their costumer service skills.
As someone who works with costumers as well, I know these can be annoying but this comes from a genuine place.
We love the subs and this location enough to decide to come and buy the whole family some food. Usually, it’s just three subs we order since my parents and I come without the rest of my older siblings and my youngest brother doesn’t eat subs. Keep in mind, I was only trying to order lunch for my family. Parents and siblings, and as a Hispanic family- we are a lot, 8 in total.
I went inside, and first thing I did was ask. I wasn’t going to demand something that wasnt possible. Immediately, I felt the vibe shift and I grew anxious. I really didn’t want to come across as rude at all so much so that I was stuttering saying I needed a catering box for today, as soon as possible. Asking for things like that when ordering for our family is cheaper and we just figured out the strategy for other restaurants.
The two guys were just awkward and clearly not very expressive- that’s fine. I don’t expect smiles 24/7. What threw me off and made me feel bad however was the dude in charge. One of the guys asked him if it was possible and he said no but seemed frustrated that he was asked in the first place. The guy then awkwardly came to relay that message. Which I saw already.
That was fine. I obviously don’t mind being told no as long as it isn’t done from a place of coldness. I then asked if it was possible for seven subs at least (earlier they had a line and still had costumers ordering) since I had been thinking of ordering a 30 piece box and that was a no go.
I was told and explained why not, even though I wondered how they were going to manage with only two available breads. But okay, no, understood. But the same dude in charge seemed to be getting actively more upset and although his movements weren’t grand, when he signaled at the bread that was “cooling off” I could tell he was actively getting worked up. So my mother and I simply left with no fuss.
I don’t mind being told no. I don’t care being told no if it isn’t possible. Just don’t make me bad for asking when I wasn’t being a Karen.
Went to Subway and the lovely two workers were very polite and patient with us. Almost a third of the man power at JJ’s...
Read moreI can’t understand all the negative reviews about this location. I get JJ sandwiches from here a few times a month and have never once had an issue—with anything. Sandwiches are always ready when I arrive. Could it be because I’m using the app?
Maybe the discord is because Jimmy John’s is different from other chains.
One aspect I really enjoy with all of the JJ sandwiches is that they are designed so that the ingredients and flavor profiles are in balance. This results in all flavors being available in each bite. Each individual flavor feels like it belongs with the others without overpowering them. It’s flavor harmony. You don’t get this kind of balance in other chains using a build-it-your-way, or less precise slap-it-together approach.
This balanced approach to sandwich making is what Jimmy John’s does, and it works. Other sandwich chains have their methods which work for them too. It’s diversity. We all have our own preferences. I wonder if maybe the difference in methods is what some are really complaining about.
Bulging overstuffed sandwiches dripping from too many ingredients isn’t Jimmy John’s,...
Read moreKaleb/Caleb is the most polite human being I’ve met in a while. He was nothing but a gentleman and respectful. My experience couldn’t have been any better i ended up not knowing if I wanted to have oil and vinegar on my sandwich so he offered for a side of the oil and I ended up not liking it so I appreciate him for giving me the option. Also I ordered a blt unwich and he suggested the numbe 16 instead to save a little money and as a customer that’s been in customer service for 8 years that was definitely a hit for me I absolutely love of course like anyone would to save a little money. Once I got to the window he asked if I had the app and unfortunately I haven’t signed up yet and he wasn’t pushy or persistent about it and I hate that pressure he was super nice . There was napkins in the bag there was the side of three kickin ranch and the sandwiches along with that side of oil and vinegar and I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience please make sure you guys show him the recognition he deserves. Jimmy jhons is lucky to have an employee like that. Round of a pluses to you...
