Bought an item that was supposed to be 14 kt. It did not have a 14 kt stamp they said they would replace the item I agreed. After many months of waiting and still no item I asked if I could just do a refund. Clerk said no because "people like to buy and wear to event and then return" wth. It wasn't some grand piece of jewelry. Not to mention I was only trying to get what I paid for. They finally ordered a new gold mount for item and reset item which would have been ok except they chipped the stone. Which I noticed before taking the item. The solution to that nonsense was they filed the stone down then said it is ok because it is the same weight. ok really have you never heard the cut is a part of value? once you grind away it is not the same. All I wanted was what I paid for. I have never worn this item because it just has bad memories of all I went through just to end up with damaged item. I wish they would do the right thing and give me what I paid for. Which is all I was ever hoping for.
AS FOR THE COMMENT I CHIPPED IT MYSELF THAT IS TOTALLY NOT TRUE (they knew I never wore it as it still had the silver string tied to it that they put on it in the showcase). You wouldn't save that for a year and I did not wait a year to bring to their attention). THEY LOOKED IT OVER WHEN THEY TOOK IT IN TO REMOUNT THERE WAS NO CHIP AND WHEN I GOT IT BACK I LOOKED THROUGH MY LOOP AND POINTED IT OUT THEY SAID IT ISN'T CHIPPED BUT UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION THEY REALIZED IT WAS CHIPPED AND GROUND IT DOWN. I SEE WHY THAT OTHER C USTOMER THREW HIS RING BACK AND WAS UPSET BECAUSE YOU OBVIOUSL Y DON'T TAKE RESPONSIBILITY (no I am not saying anyone should through something. Just stating I am not the only one who has been frustrated by how things are done. I chose to walk away and not fight but other should know what to look out for). This whole process took so long I gave up thinking you would ever make it right. I signed paperwork because what choice did I have knowing you would not make it right. People need to know what they can expect. This is all I have to say. You know you chipped it that is on you. If you had this happen to you as a customer you would not be happy either. Maybe next time do the right thing. I did not have it a year before noticing issue but it took about that long trying to get you to resolve. I wasn't looking for refund just wanted what I paid for . Why do you think I waited months for you to get new mount (so don't put it on me I did something wrong). spin this however you want you still did not do the...
Read moreI am taking time to write a review because I love my engagement ring and shopping experience with Skalitzky Jewelers. I am not someone who typically enjoys shopping or jewelry. I am analytical and I get overwhelmed shopping because I think I must analyze all options and research extensively to make the best purchase. IFor example, am someone who needs personal shopping services like StitchFix. I am not an easy customer because I don't have typical style preferences and I am picky. I was shopping around before going to Skalitzky and was becoming exhausted by the search. Jane at Skalitzky Jewelers caught on that I needed help. Jane asked me questions to get to know me and my preferences. Jane ordered a few new rings that fit my style. This helped me to narrow down my options and figure out what I really wanted. Once we selected the setting Jane also figured out the details of the stone I would prefer. In the end, I absolutely love the ring-it is gorgeous! This is the first piece of jewelry that I am very excited about. Jane did a great job figuring this all out for me and I'm grateful. It feels good to have found the ring "that is me" and to support a locally owned family business in my current hometown. I'm typically a tough negotiator and quite fugal; I am very satisfied with the fair prices at Skalitzky Jewelers. Overall areas that a business could be rated on, I highly recommend...
Read moreOn Dec 30th a deal was struck between Bill Skalitzky and I for a new engagement ring. My previous engagement ring that was purchased from them for close to $9000(LG11367118) a 1.75ct and 14k Fancy Solitaire Engagement ring was held as earnest towards the new ring. Bill Skalitzky held my ring however, Jane(his wife) decided that he should not honor his deal, and would then give me less than half of what he thought was fair. This is a classic "bait and switch". Jane Skalitzky then accused me of being a thief to my signicant other with ZERO evidence. She then called the Sun Prairie Police to validate the ownership of the ring. They verified that I was the legal possessor of the ring.
Bill and Jane Skalizky tarnished my name, and slandered me to my fiancee. They told my fiancee that I was a thief, without any proof, and without asking for any legal documentation(which I had). The Sun Prairie Police then had to reach out to verify the proper ownership, which they did...But did Skalitzky's apologize? NO...Of course they didn't.. The lack of business integrity, Bill's personal integrity is null and void. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH...
