Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Sunbury

On Monday, 9/15/25, I order a acai bowl around 8:30 pm. I chose "ASAP" and was emailed a pick-up time of 8:48. When I arrived at 8:45 the store was closed. I could see two workers inside cleaning and two other young ladies hanging out that appeared to be friends and not employees. I confirmed that the store's posted close time is 9:00 pm. I went back online to cancel the order but apparently you cannot cancel ASAP orders. So, I was charged $12.88 from a store that was closed when they should have been open. The next day I called the location and spoke to a Manager. I should have gotten a name. She said she would run a refund through at that time. She said she would call me if there was a problem. Well, no refund, no call. Called again today and spoke to an employee that questioned why I wanted to speak to a Manager. When I told him he said I need to call back at 2:00 because they were busy with lunch. Great service- closing early, allowing online orders to go through when closed, no follow through with refund, and blown off when trying to get corrected. I really like Trop. My husband and I absolutely love this location, specifically! It’s one of the best things we have in Sunbury, which is saying a lot after 30 years of living here. The other locations in the Columbus area truly do not compare. The staff is always so friendly, the restaurant is very clean, the food is great and the service is fast. We continue to be taken care of and have the same consistent pleasant experience upon every late night inkling which keeps us coming back. Over the summer we randomly met the owners after about a year of patronizing and they were so kind and hospitable, which has been a direct reflection in the operation of this restaurant since it opened. First time there. I couldn't decide which sandwich to get. So I got the chicken caprese sandwich, hummus veggie wrap, and beach club salad. Wow!! All 3 were fantastic! Every one of them tasted amazing! I got the kale apple slaw as my side and again. Wow! That was so good! I highly recommend this place for food and smoothies. I couldn't decide which smoothie either, so I got the jetty puch and mango magic. You can add a bunch of different things to the smoothies! Vitamins, yogurt, fruits, and veggies.
