Bob's Drive In — Restaurant in Sunnyside

So, this place once had the best burgers around but it was bought out in 2022 ... and now it has shoddy management/ownership, the food has all been lowered in quality/quantity but increased in price (and I mean before the big inflation hike), and any experienced staff were let go when the new owners took over (all new faces upon re-opening, I'm assuming so they could have free rein to bugger the place up AND avoid paying above minimum wage or any benefits). The owners seem to lack any management experience as they don't seem to build a good rapport with their employees and are unable to adequately order items to keep things in stock. Not just ketchup or whatnot; I mean beef or onion rings.

This place was established and iconic. I told friends from all over to swing in here for the best burgers ... and now I warn people to avoid it. It's a vanity project for owners that couldn't recognize a successful business model if it was a snake about to bite them. I went from eating here a few times a year to never. The last 2 experiences were more than enough for me to see the direction they're aiming for - the gutter.

Anytime I've seen negative reviews expressed on social media they are removed. I commented on a post once about how I miss the old Bob's Drive-In and someone claimed they had "the best salad" in there - no one came to this place for salads. We came for burgers.

The new mural is gaudy and lacks any depth in shading, just plain colors - it's an eyesore.

There is indoor seating/ordering and outdoor to-go ordering. We kept getting skipped for a while from the indoor area so we ordered outside. When we went back to our seats someone came in to take the order of a group that just got there, and then asked if we ordered yet 😑, so layering it on at this point. When our food came they gave it to the wrong table. After they figured it out, they picked it up and brought it to us so good chance the other table touched it a bit but the burgers were still wrapped and by this time we were kinda in a hurry so we let it go. My daughters food and our drinks were forgotten so that added more time. My burger was the wrong burger, my daughter's nachos were like gas station nachos. It's too bad. My husband did like his burger. Although I got the wrong one, I ate it and it was just ok. I ordered the blackened Blue but got a bacon cheeseburger. Worst service

I have been a long time customer to this place and I have never had this horrible of service ever. I come from out of state because the food is good but after I had ordered my food, I was told it was going to be 10 - 15 minutes. I started noticing other people coming and going, I assumed that they ordered in ahead of time. After about 40 minutes passed by I was sitting in the car waiting for them to call me but I noticed that all the employees were just standing around talking to each other. I went up to ask what was going on with my food and one of the employees asked me what had I ordered. I had to tell him what I ordered and it turns out that they left it in the warmer and not one of them realized that the food was there. They gave me my money back to make up for the long wait but it still doesn’t make up for the fact that we had to wait for a long time...
