TL;DR: without being told before ordering, we, a group of 9, were asked to leave to make table for the next group repeatedly after less than one and half hour of eating.
We had dinner there with a party of 9. We made a reservation and arrived around 5:40 and two people came later around 6pm. The food itself is quite good and arrived quickly after order. But the waiter came around 6:50 and told us all food has arrived. Five minutes later, they came again and told us another large group is waiting outside and asked if we can finish quickly. But we still had plenty food left on the table and we are still working on them. Five minutes later, they came again and directly brought two take-out boxes to us and asked us if we can package the food. We were not happy but didn’t want to argue back. While we were taking the food, they came again and told us if we can do it the other way as they suggested, we can package the food more quickly. In the end, we left and we checked the time and it was 7pm. We came there to have the barbecue and chat with friends who even drove more than half an hour there but left with a bad mood. We had to find another place to continue our conversation. Very bad experience and we had never been asked to leave in a restaurant without being told so...
Read moreHad my first visit to Dynasty BBQ for a Saturday lunch, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The place came highly recommended by a friend who had tried the San Mateo location, so expectations were high going in — and it did not disappoint.
We had a party of five adults (four men, one woman), and in typical fashion, we overestimated our appetites and ordered way too much. We probably finished less than two-thirds of the food, and the leftovers could easily feed another two to three adults. That said, every bite was worth it. The BBQ was delicious — rich in flavor, well-seasoned, and grilled to perfection. I’d honestly say this is among the best Chinese BBQ I’ve had in the Bay Area — possibly even in the U.S. (though to be fair, my sample size across the country is pretty limited).
What really surprised us was the price. For the amount and quality of food we got, we expected the bill to be much higher — but it came out to just around $220 total. That’s an incredible deal for five adults at a high-quality BBQ place.
Definitely looking forward to coming back — but next time, we’ll try not to order like we’re feeding...
Read moreAlways pass by this place after gym every week but there's always line at night so never attempted to go in until today when we're around the area for lunch. I overordered because I thought the meat on the skewers will be tiny since most skewer only costs less than $3 each. But turned out 1 skewer is even enough for 2 to share if you order lots of varieties. We also ordered the spicy potato noodles which has just the right spiciness & the meat was very tender (a little too much bean sprouts lol). The only disappointment is the beef with tripe which was the most expensive @$4. Some tendon are super hard and inedible. It only costs 3 of us $64 total with leftover (noodle, few skewers). Wish there was guzheng performance during weekday lunch. Will...
