Excellent small family-owned neighborhood Indian restaurant serving a variety of curries, Indian cuisine, snacks and drinks. Although relatively hidden from major routes and located in a small town center, they really do well with customer service, the taste of the dishes, and the portion sizes. Service is fast (10 minute wait time for amazing food). We were overall impressed and will be returning!
[The Food] We ordered the two specials they had today (a creamy chicken tikka marsala and a curry with red peppers and onions). The price was amazing for what we got (around 12 dollars per dish). Due to Covid, we wanted to get it togo and enjoyed it when we got home. It was AMAZING. The portion sizes were great (we both have lunch for tomorrow now!) and the taste is authentic. I can tell they put care into their food. Definitely worth trying out!
[The Customer Service] The customer service was great. We were greeted by a gentlemen with a hat and he was super nice. Offered us suggestions and treated us like family. It's refreshing to meet people who treat you nicely rather than a nuisance. We were impressed by his attitude! Went in on May 2, 2021, at 1800 hours. Thank you!
[The location] The location is in a quiet part of the neighborhood off lawrence expressway. It's in a little town center near a ship center and some other restaurants. We felt safe as we waited for our food.
In conclusion, definitely recommend that you...
Read moreThis place has steadily gone downhill over time. I first fell in love with this place before they changed ownership back in 2014. Today was the worst taste and service experience yet. My kids usually love butter chicken but this time they didn't touch it. It just looked and tasted off. Too red and almost sour or something. Their chickpea soup had a bland taste. But here's the kicker. The way I was treated. Some older man cooking in the back was watching me go through all the cutlery in a holder by the register looking for clean utensils as they all looked dirty. When i finally found some semi clean utensils for my family, i looked up and the older gentleman was meanly staring at me then angrily says "You can't contaminate all the utensils now i have to wash them all". I said "Good because they are all dirty anyway so they were already contaminated to begin with". Then he just looks at me all angry then walks away. I've never been treated like I'm "dirty and contaminated" i get it. The pandemic. Then why you have the utensils up here for everyone to go through in the first place?! Then the cashier told me to go get it myself. You guys should hand CLEAN "UNCONTAMINATED" utensils to customers directly if you're so concerned. The whole restaurant in general just looked dirty. Unfortunately I'm done coming here. There are plenty of better quality Indian restaurants in the bay area so no...
Read moreagain, this is the place if you really have an ocd about the exact spice level in your food, i think this is one of the places i have visited than other restaurants. i love them as they put as much spice as i want (child happy) and do not judge or suggest something else. must eat list should contain chicken popcorn, fish pakoda, any item with cream+spinach (they are really good in this preparation), extra spicy punjabi biryani, spicy wraps and burritos. heard that chana battura is awesome but the coconut chicken curry is not so much. ok, they have something (good one) in their washroom that i have never seen any where else
We call it Aunty ka Dukaan. This is one rare kind of a place where you will feel they treat all the dishes as a special one. Their cream-based curries are very good. Even their afternoon non-veg combo is quite a treat. I used to be a frequent customer here because no other restaurant will let you customise the spice level and will not adjust the dishes so...
