A really good korean bbq place that has recently opened up in the area! I like their selection of many different beef but also their pork meats that they have too which is apparently their specialty. There's a large selection so it can be a little bit overwhelming. However, there are also packages that can help group up some of the items together, particularly making it easier to order if you have four or five people and then you can just look at the appetizers menu which there are still a huge selection to choose from! They also got other items including kimchi soup and Korean fried Chicken! Once you get your meats, usually you're supposed to cook them by yourself. However, during the soft opening i notice that the servers have been cooking the items for you. We came during a weekday night that wasn't too busy during the soft opening so I would assume on a weekend that most of the cooking will still be done by yourself. It also seems that they weren't using their fullest space that they currently had at the time, so I'm sure that it can get a lot busier if they needed to just adjust for personnel and stuff. What they did have was a really nice area where you could see the butcher working to cut up all the meats as well as in the back for those dishes that need to be prepared such as the spicy rice rolls we ordered! Service was friendly and fast and attentive due to the low amount of people tonight, It was never hard to refill on water or even any of the Korean appetizers such as kimchi and even pickled onions and white carrot. Although I didn't really understand the "salad" that they had, I just found it to be very plain tasting and didn't really have any flavor... But what does have flavor is the pork neck meat we try tonight as well as some of the beef prime rib that was seasoned in garlic and more! I also noticed they also switch out the grill depending on what is being cooked such as pork or beef! It is all on the top of a gas stove so any juices that come down into the fire will definitely make a flame shoot up in the air! Just hope that they clean off the grill or check up on you once in awhile to prevent something going up in flames! I hope as they ramp up this business there's going to be more items and more tables being served at a time as well as other teething trouble such as the fans on top of each table starting to work and more. I also hope to try their liquors next time and hopefully they have some cocktails besides rice...

Let’s start with the beef tartare—raw, rich, and beautifully seasoned. Honestly, it’s the kind of dish that makes you consider deleting all your delivery apps and just committing to Don Blanc full-time. Then there's the seafood pancake (haemul pajeon)—crispy on the outside, tender and packed with seafood inside. Perfectly dunkable in their dipping sauce.
But the real MVP? The Galbi (Korean marinated short ribs). Sweet, savory, grilled to perfection at the table, and so tender it practically melts in your mouth. Every bite had me staring at my chopsticks like, “Who raised you?”
Bonus foodie points: they serve spicy raw crab (yangnyeom gejang)—a legit Korean delicacy you rarely see outside of Seoul. It’s spicy, funky, and totally addictive if you're into bold flavors.
The staff is super friendly, the service is fast, and the meat quality is top-tier. This isn’t your basic all-you-can-eat situation where you end up regretting life by round three. Don Blanc is authentic Korean BBQ done right—with a cozy vibe, clean grills, and flavor-packed Korean dishes worth coming back for.

Read moreThis newer Korean restaurant was at the top of my list for places to go to ever since they opened, because I had heard a lot of good things about their Oakland location. Overall the experience here was really nice. The experience felt really authentic with a great variety of delicious banchan and the meat is presented in a really nice way as well. The brisket was delicious and the bibim naengmyeon was also really nice(not too spicy). The only issue I had was with the boneless short rib, or the “premium snowflake meat”. The cut on it unfortunately had a bit of tendon/cartilage which made the pieces uncharacteristically crunchy rather than soft or tender. However, I brought up this issue with the manager and he was quick to test it out himself and get a replacement for the meat. The replacement was much better, and I am very glad he was understanding of the situation. If I were to base everything off of the original meat, I’d give it a 3./5, however because the manager got us different meat, I’d give the experience a 4.8/5. It is a bit pricey however for the quality it is...
