A friend and I brought an infant and two toddlers to this restaurant. While waiting for a table, one toddler was extending his legs across the floor. A waitress decided to step over him, nearly tripping herself. She gave us a dirty look, then the store owner immediately walked over to ask us if we planned to "control our children". She further went on to tell us that she reserved the right to refuse service. After telling her we were aware of her right, we asked her if she would like our business or if she would prefer that we leave the restaurant. She said she was not asking us to leave, but again reminded us repeatedly that she reserved the right to refuse service and continued to ask if we planned to "control our children". I explained to her that her waitress chose to step over the child and did not give him a moment's notice to move after rudely saying "Excuse me!" She continued to argue and then rudely pushed two menus in front of our faces, telling us we could "just order now, then your food will be ready when we seat you." After realizing this woman had little experience with how children differ from adults in response time (being told "Excuse me") and patience (sitting on the floor, rather than the bench, causing a particular waitress obvious distress), I asked her if she had children of her own. "No," she told me, "but I have a pet. And I can control my PET!" The last straw was taken and my friend and I excused ourselves and enjoyed a nice lunch with our well-behaved toddlers elsewhere. We will not be giving this establishment...

Wow. Just wow. Unexpected gem in a slightly off the main road location. Went here with my boyfriend and was blown away by the service we received. Since then we have been back on a weekly basis.
The food is INCREDIBLE. The nigiri and sashimi are so fresh you could hear it swim (not literally of course!), and the cuts are very generous. The tempura (this is a tempura house!) is fantastic; not too breaded but just enough for that nice light battered flavour. The sake selection is good, too. Their cold soba is FANTASTIC, especially on a hot summer night. I have yet to try their sukiyaki but I plan on it soon.
The manager is from Tokyo, and the chef is as well. If you speak fluent Japanese this place will be a good way to keep it up.
My only regret is that I don't have enough money to come here on a daily basis.
I will upload more pictures over the weekend when I go back. Ignore my small amount of sake in the pic; I was the DD so I couldn't have too much and I'm a...
Read moreCopy and pasted from my Yelp review: Don't come here if you want a timely meal. The service is FREAKING SLOW! The waiters seem untrained. We walk in the door, ask for a table for 2, and then stand there awkwardly for a while because the waitress that seemed like she would seat us says "OK" then disappears into the kitchen. Finally a different waiter comes and asks if we've been helped. Well, if we had been helped, we'd be sitting down, not awkwardly standing at the entrance. Then he asks me where I want to sit. The restaurant is really big. I don't know where I want to sit! Just tell me where to sit! After we finally get seated and finally get our menus and finally order, the food takes a LIFETIME to come. I don't care that there's only 1 sushi chef; it should not take 50 minutes to make a chirashi sushi and 2 rolls, period. And might I add that the 2 rolls were tiny as hell. I guess they were sort of fat, but at $10 a pop, I expected more than 4 pieces each. The food itself tasted decent, but I don't even care. There's no way I'll ever go back. I seriously have NEVER waited this long for food....
