I have been coming to Chavez for years. This Sunnyvale location is close to my work and each year it has gotten worse. I usually come for lunch. In the beginning which was 7 years ago the food to go was. Reasonable priced for the quality and amount they would give you. It seemed fair for what you were getting. Today however Chavez now weighs the amount of meat you will receive. And if you watch they are exact. in your burrito or taco you will only get the oz you they have set. Not a tiny piece or gram more. Not to mention if you want remove a condiments and add a different one you will pay more! That's pay more not get more. But i have always thought will i am supporting Mexican businesses...and i know things do change. okay i can deal with that. But Chavez is now willing to take advantage of there patrons and do these things cut back on product and increase the charge. Today i went in for a breakfast burrito. I was so surprised by what i got. I had to write this and told myself i can no longer stay a customer of Chavez Supermarket and i will now tell others to do the same. This breakfast burrito i got was Huevo con Chorizo which is 2 eggs with chorizo beans and rice. I prefer it without beans but for this i 8.99 plus tax. that was almost 20 dollars for two of them. The flavor was just awful. OMG that was chorizo!!! wow and then just two eggs....WOW!!! Good bye Chavez Supermarket!!! I'd rather continue to go to the food trucks around here and pay less and get back to value and enjoying my lunch...
Read moreI like chaves market good quality ingredients tasty hot food I've only been to the location in redwood City never to the one in Sunnyvale but pretty much the same thing extremely small parking lot supermarket full of good stuff they were six cashier lines and only one was open 2:30 in the afternoon on a very busy Street I got a burrito in the back and I wanted to purchase my drink there too but I wasn't allowed to that doesn't make any sense but trying to divert the flow of people at the taqueria coming to the front of the store but there's no point when there's that many cashier open and nobody's there to do it I left my drink because the line had more than 20 people and by the time I pay for my drink my burrito would be freezing cold that's why I gave it a two star I thought that was pretty ridiculous I did see it for higher sign it said starting at $22 an hour which is not bad for a supermarket I used to work for whole foods and they start you at 17 what a difference anyways I just want to write this review because I couldn't believe how long the lines were and there are so many employees in the back but nobody could jump on a cashier talk about no team effort thanks for taking the time to read...
Read moreFirst of all, any location with the address 6 6 6 is a problem for me. I have ordered food from their little restaurant in the back and both times I went in like a week... Not only did they overcharge me for the food, when I asked to have them fix it, three different staff members ended up coming to the cash register. They questioned me about my transaction which I did not like, and then gave me my proper change... I had already left the location and had to come back. The wait for them to figure out the mistake on the first time was like 15 minutes...
The second time I came, they charged me for an extra food item that was not in my order. As I was in the line, I saw two other people that were overcharged as well and I had to wait almost a half an hour for them to fix the issue... I was extremely disheartened at the lack of customer service skills provided. Not coming back unless I am buying...
