Flavorless and dry. So sad :-( Seeing so many of my friends give this place high marks suggests one of the following:
Perhaps a combination of all three? Because tonight I had an "all the way" bacon cheeseburger, which includes (among other things) sauteed onions, mushrooms, pickles, mayo, ketchup, mustard, etc.
You know what I tasted most? Very dry, overcooked, unseasoned beef and pickles. You know what I ended up craving? An In'n'out moist, flavorful animal-style cheeseburger (at half the price).
I mean, seriously people, how can this happen? How is it scientifically possible for a burger with all the aforementioned* (especially bacon and grilled onions!) to resemble so much of the mouth feel and (I imagine) taste of cardboard? Just makes me so sad. Yes, In'n'Out is thankfully much closer to me, but... I just wasted $5 and (worse yet) a lot of my caloric intake on this thing :(.
*I didn't actually detect an iota of ketchup or mustard or mayo. Maybe they simply forgot to put...
Read moreThey have raised their prices to the point it cost them 1 or 2 stars. It's a decent burger. Yes the complementary peanuts are a nice treat. Yes the burger is a double Patty. Yrs the make a decent shake with free mix ins. Yes the fries are fresh cut in house and you get a mound of them... but...at these prices it still isnt enough. Only cheese choice is nasty processed American cheese. The burger is big but really lacks flavor. The place itself is so noisy most of it industrial noise... the vent hood.. the hum of the soda machines. You can barely hear the music. Do yourself a favor... eat outside. Better yet for half the price go across the street to the Habit and get a better tasting (albeit smaller) burger with more options... even better shakes. Or go to Boudin and get a really great gourmet burger at the same price. Sorry 5 Guys... at these prices your burger is no longer a good value even with all the free extras mentioned above. If your going to raise your prices like this... increase the quality of the flavor of your burger and offer real cheese. I won't be back...

For a review of the burgers themselves, YouTube damn drops five guys; it is very accurate.
First off I just want to say this is my equivalent of a perfect score as true perfection is impossible, but they do get damn close.
These guys really care about their customers, and their job. They are passionate and go above and beyond when doing their job. They always give you a positive vibe, and service with a smile. Hell they will even talk with you when they aren't busy if you start up a tiny conversation. They are simply awesome. I have received better customer service here than at places like Aleksandr's Steakhouse or Fogo De Chao, which are both super luxurious and expensive ($60+ per person). Not to say they gave me bad service at those locations, just that this specific store is so good at it! Thank you Sunnyvale crew for all of your hard work, and a special shout out to Jason and Wesley for their constant diligence and care for making the customer have the best possible experience.
I go here weekly for these above reasons, sometimes multiple...
