I recently visited Thai square with a group of friends, and while we had high hopes for a fun evening, the experience turned out to be disappointing. The restaurant itself had a lot of charm—it's a cozy, cute spot with great lighting and a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for our group of eight or so we thought.
At first, everything was going smoothly. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere set the right mood for an enjoyable night. However, things took a negative turn when two of our guests ordered the Pad Thai. Instead of the classic Thai flavor we were expecting, the dish had an overpowering smell and taste of tomato paste, which left both guests unable to eat it.
One of my friends politely asked the server if she could change the dish because she dodnt like the taste, but the server looked confused and informed her that they don’t allow changes. The only option was to order something else, which would come with an extra charge. No accommodation was made, and the server didn’t offer any solution or seem interested in helping. After this, the server left, and during the rest of the meal, she continued to refill our water but completely ignored the untouched plate, which sat there the entire time. At no point did she bring a manager or make any attempt to fix the situation. She completely ignored the issue. To make matters worse, despite the uneaten dish, my friend was still charged for it. Since we were a group of eight, an automatic gratuity was added, forcing my friend to tip on a dish she couldn’t eat and a situation that was poorly handled.
This lack of care and customer service left a bitter impression. For a restaurant to serve an unappetizing dish is one thing, but to refuse to address the issue, especially when it’s clear that the dish hadn’t been touched, felt unacceptable. It really soured what could have been a pleasant night out with friends.
Overall, most of the dishes were fine, but this experience with the Pad Thai and the unresponsive service put a damper on the evening. If you visit, I’d recommend sticking to dishes you know you’ll like, because the restaurant doesn’t seem interested in making things right if something goes wrong. Our evening, which began with excitement, ended on a disappointing note, and I’m not sure we’ll be returning...
Read moreSo I went in for dinner maybe 6pm and it was not too packed when I got there. It did start getting pretty packed after I got seated. There was no wait when I got there. But it is a small place so be aware plan accordingly. But if your eating by yourself the bar is open so you can hit that up. So when I got seated I got my stuff like a fork and chopsticks ect. What I did noticed where I sat the lighting is kinda la a spot light coming down on to the table. so it is intresting I feel the lighting showcases the food alot more and makes eating alittle more romantic . So I think it's a good date spot. I got the sushi sashimi for 1 and it was real good lots of sashimi and sushi . There was the roll and the nigiri and the sashimi. So it had alittle bit of everything like tuna ,salmon, and yellowtail. The meal came with some miso soup to start and that was pretty good. I did get an unsweetened tea which had some Lemon on it. So if you don't like lemon in your tea. They do offer pepsi products and they have sake and beers and other drinks. Over all it was a good spot that I happen to stumble apon. It was not super expensive and was a great price for the amount of food you get. I believe I got out of there under 40 dollars before tip. So...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. The sushi was good. That is what I always ordered. Last time I decided to order Udon noodles to try something different. I still ordered sushi as well. When the noodles came out they were cold and tasted nasty. Almost like they have been sitting out all night. I did not touch them and told the waiter. He took the plate off the table. When I went to pay I saw that I was charged for the noodles $14. I asked if I could please get the noodles taken off my bill since I did not eat any of the noodles and he had taken it off the table. He went and ask the manager. She came over and told me "no, you have to pay for the noodles". I told her that they were gross and I didn't even eat them. She said it didn't matter. I said then if your going to charge me for something I did not eat and that was cold then I would like to at least take it home. She said I can't do that because the waiter already threw them away. I was just in shock. I'm not one to cause a seen or argue. I paid for everything but I will never return there. If that is how you treat people then I am never setting foot in there again. Horrible management. Does not care...
