I am a resident of Stone Canyon, and this is now the third time Peace Nail has played games with their pricing. This isnāt about the money ā itās about principle and honesty.
First incident: I was told they couldnāt do regular color without gel ā yet they removed a color (#98) that clearly wasnāt gel.
Second incident: They charged me $30 just to remove a set ā which they ripped off, damaging my natural nails in the process.
Final straw: Today, I walked in with a completely removed set (done at another salon) and ordered pink and white nails for $60. After gluing on tips, the tech asked my preferred length. I said medium-short. He cut them down, then suddenly says itās $70. When I asked why, he claimed it was for ālengthā ā despite there being no posted price for extra length and my nails being clearly short. He then backtracked, saying heād have to ācut them downā and agreed to $60. It was obvious he was trying to slip in an extra $10.
Itās not about the $10 ā itās about the repeated lack of transparency and the feeling that they are constantly trying to push the limits with customers. This place has gone downhill fast. The quality, honesty, and trust are gone. Itās an inconvenience for me to go elsewhere, but after today, Iām done. Peace Nail has lost my business. Itās a shame to see it come to this.
Oh and the blood around my cuticles and thickness under is a mess. I have āsports lengthā nails just to get to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI like coming here, most of the time itās decent work and minimal wait. What I cannot tolerate is the constant fees they want to add on to basic services. For example, I get French tip on my natural nails and the set costs me $60 because they insist on charging me āfor better productsā i.e. whatever solar means. And then they add $5 for āshaping.ā Shaping should just inherently be included in the service price, that is an absurd fee, but whatever I pay it. Well this last time, I requested a fill ONLY which costs $40 (which is also excessive) and itās clearly listed on the sheet that I fill out when I walk in. The acrylic fill on the sheet is listed as $30 but they tell me that I have to pay for the solar fill, I donāt like that either, that feels like a scam. Anyways, after the nail tech files down the clear layer of my nails she says it will actually cost $55 for the fill. In what world does that make sense? We call over the manager and they agree to only charge me $40. When the manager leaves she then says sheās going to tack on another $5 for shaping. WHAT?! What are you shaping? I ask. A fill it just that a fill near the bottom of nail bed. Sheās like ok nvm Iāll just charge you the $40 and proceeds to speed through the subpar service. I will not be returning as I am tired of dealing with these...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBefore is my natural nails in between sets. After is about a month after I removed nails from this salon. Literally only went here for removal of acrylics because it was close by and I needed to get them off quick before I went back to my healthcare job the next day, and they COMPLETELY screwed up my nails. Look at the DEEP ridges in my nails. Had to take a clean break from salons and letting the damage grow out first because she filed it down so thin it breaks if itās any longer than this. Never had this experience before with any other nail salon.
She actually first tried to remove my nails with another fake nail and I grabbed my hand back and said I wanted a soak off (if you havenāt experienced this, it unnecessarily damages your natural nails and they do this because theyāre lazy. I couldāve done that at homeā¦) She didnāt like that and I think she took it out on my nails because what the actual F is that. Dug in her nail clippers and cut my nails down to the quick, without asking me. And she kept trying to get me to get another fresh set and didnāt like that I was firm and got less nice each time she asked⦠like I understand that in your eyes, a removal is a waste of your time but that doesnāt mean you completely screw up a customers nails beyond repair. Screw this place...
