Lets star with the positive aspect of the 1:15min we were seating at this location. Ivan (our server) did everything possible to assist the poor operation the owner of this place has in the kitchen. Ivan made us aware the waiting time for a fish dish was extended than the rest of the order we placed. Ivan was absolutely polite, respectful and kind so 5 star to Ivan. Now let's list the opportunities this place has:
Terrible vibe. They are far from being catalogued as"Fonda" since that is what they are trying to be. Very poor ambience so you don't feel in a Colombia restaurant nor in a "Fonda", it's just a "cantina" that serves food. After Ivan's great service, his co worker (which stated she came from the other restaurant from this se brand) addresses you with "Amor" right after very single sentence. So it's sounds like "Amor que va a comer, Amor ya viene la comida, Amor this amor that"... Very unprofessional way to handle a table. If ithe intent is to be warm, there is so many different professional ways to do it, not calling people Mi Amor all the time. Setting the right expectations is the number one rule in every retailer and business in general. The female that called us at least 20 times Mi Amor, said "Mi Amor la comida se demora 20 minutos" which initially we were ok with. 1 hour later, she comes out the kitchen with food for another table that had just arrived, and told us "Mi amor su pedido ya sale" ... By then we we lost all hopes in this place and had no opinion but to leave.
In a nutshell, Terrible site and vibe, terrible kitchen timing (very likely under staffed) as there was only 2 other tables in this place whe all this fiasco took place. Management and owner has to take this review as opportunity to grow on this defficies as those are the reflection of their poor and incompetent leadership.
We want to highlight Ivan's good effort to deliver a good service. He was the only one that delivered excellent service with a great and respectful demeanor at all times. 5 stars to Ivan 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
To the manager and owner, please be objective with the time invested in writing this review as grow comes from improving deficiencies, and you guys have a...
Read moreI went in for some drinks by myself. (beers) after a long stressful day at work. I live in Broward county just moved from miami, originally from blue fields Nicaragua Miami raised since I was an 8 yr old kid I'm pushing 50 now. I came to this place because I felt like I would connect with the Colombian latin staff at this place since im latin myself in broward county and hardly go out because It’s hard for me to find latin places that I like in broward(I dunno maybe it’s just me) anyway, I got served by Alejandro. before he brought the beer over i had to go and use the bathroom which I did, by the time I came over to the bar my beer was already there waiting for me. (Fine) Inside the restaurant there was only myself at the bar and one table with a family of 4 thats it. No one else. Alejandro never came and checked on me once. I was doing happy hour two for one and never asked me to let him know when I was ready for the second beer even though he saw my glass almost empty. in fact he never even explained their happy hour. I had an idea but he never elaborated. Fine!.. i figured it was two for one. I was ok with that, I said to myself no big deal. I waited to see how long it was going to take him to check up on me he didn’t even asked me if i wanted to see the menu. After 45 minutes I felt like that was enough time to let Pass by before I had to flag him down to ask him for my second drink as well as the bill. I had looked online at the menu I was hoping to order some Food but i was never asked if I wanted the menu nor if i wanted something to eat. This experience made me feel like I was being judged You see, I am a gay female with brown skin who looks mexican. He probably wanted to call la migra lol. The funny thing is he also looks mexican himself but a bit lighter than me. I just dont feel line I was given the proper treatment as a PAYING customer. I felt ignored and not valued as a person and as a paying customer. They (all the staff) made me feel as if I came into this establishment begging for free beer although I was a PAYING customer. Not cool. Will not...
Read more“Wow babe! It’s so good!” That’s what my gf said. And my mom “mmmh , muy rico todo.” I say it’s as delicious as it gets! We each came in for some Authentic Sancocho on Sunday afternoon. And let me tell you, it’s a great idea to call before hand and make sure you reserve a bowl because it might run out from how desirable it is! We all came in and were greeted with a smile and background salsa music to set the mood just right! They asked if we had been here before and we mentioned it was our first time and they were ecstatic to explain to us the great vibes they have here on the weekends with their “Rumba nights” where it turns into a awesome dance party. We sat and ordered some delicious beef empanadas for starters which were incredible and full of meat , not like other restaurants that fill them with mainly potato.
They were very busy and made sure we felt taken care of and not forgotten, they brought us some additional mini empanadas to save the day as we ordered and waited for their famous Beef Rib Sancocho (De Costilla).
It was an easy wait in my opinion as the music was setting the vibe just right!
Once the Sancocho arrived, the aromas of home (Colombia) touched the soul, unlocking memories of being with my family in Cali, Colombia next to the river on any given Sunday enjoying one (A Sancocho).
Highly recommended if your home sick and want to feel the warmth in your tummy make you feel like you’re...
