This location discriminates against Jewish and black customers, to many examples but I wear a Yarmulke so they know. I came into the store w a tiny bit of G.E.R.D and after I sipped a cup of water I had to expell the liquid from the condition, went outside to a bushed area away from anyone. I came back inside thinking it wasn't known what happened. I washed my hands and sat down . Feeling better as Gerd passes quickly, less than ten minutes. I'm sitting there and Brittany who knows me as a regular customer. I've always been kind to her. She says you can't be sick and filthy causing others to get ill, she said this as if I was one of the homeless junkies that come to Starbucks using the bathroom like a opium den. I remained extremely calm and explained that I have a condition that caused that but I am not sick. I even asked is someone telling you to do this because I'll leave if it's corporate, I said I'm not trying to cause you to get in to trouble. She denied anyone telling her to do it. So I reasoned with her and said you see I'm fine right? I feel good , everything is ok. She agreed and walked away, About 5-7minutes pass and two officers in tactical bullet proof vests are approaching me w faces like this was going to be serious. I felt instantly violated, Brittany knows GOD saw her call the police on someone who comes in and is always kind. It was such an abrupt unexplainable escalation. I asked the officers to let me at least ask her what I'm missing. She came over and I thought maybe I just had to leave, she came over didn't speak when I said "we came to an understanding" . She stated bluntly to trespass him.
I understand this feels like just my side of the story but it's all on video. Your corporate executives have all been notified about this.
The fact it is all on video and 100% as I stated it. I don't like this drama but this is about something else. In my friendlier times all Baristas have opened up to me in conversation.
Some of the employees here are golden, Stef who will graduate in a few months as a mental health professional, Daniel the salt of the earth and reason most ppl go here. Pure positivity from a real New Yorican.
But there's something going on at this location, it's stemming from the environment caused by there main store Manager Colleen. A woman who brags about her Father the corrections officer in some rural area. She wears cowboy boots and loves nothing more than public humiliation of what I can tell is black older men.
They will be so polite to some. But if a Black man over the age of 40 comes in. She scrutinizes them and instead of saying what may be her concern. She intentionally says whatever it may be in a manner that is just condescending enough, just passive aggressive enough to cause the person to get very angry. She then uses the energy she just caused as the reason he will now be arrested if he doesn't leave the store.
I have at least 5 regulars who have seen it multiple times and would definetly stand by me on that.
What happened to me I almost sense could be retribution for the way I would look at them when these things would happen. Like they knew I was judging them for it, it would disrupt the whole store to create some public humiliation.
Brittany and Colleen are the only two white employees at this location ironically.
The situation I was involved in is fully documented and I am going to contact the ADL ACLU ETC
If by Monday I'm not receiving a formal apology by the Starbucks corporation and they retrain there employees at said location.
They seem to have forgotten what happened in Philadelphia when they had the controversy that lead to 3rd place policy.
To treat a long time regular who is very kind like this is absurd. There are many regulations against discrimination. Even if they want to say it was purely about health issues. I was not ill or intoxicated or anything related to the issue that wasn't above board. To agree it was ok and walk away to call the police. The body cam footage will force SB...
Read moreJust went to this location 8/31/22 9:48:55am at store 8301. Usually I go to the one on commercial blvd and university dr but decided to give this one a try. HUGEEE MISTAKE! I went in expecting to see the hand menu the Starbucks at the commercial blvd had for customers who aren’t familiar with popular drink names. I ask the lady at the register for it and sarcastically she pointed behind her I said no it’s a special drink menu she said uhh this the only one we have. I told her what I wanted and asked what’s your medium size she sarcastically said oh medium I speak English. I looked at her shocked at the way her customer service was coming across as we all know Starbucks doesn’t use small medium large, they use venti grande and another one. So i said well no you guy use another terminology she said well for my Spanish customers who aren’t familiar I let them use small medium large. It’s just the way she was approaching me her attitude her rude comments and facial expressions as I’m ordering the food. I paid and asked the barista for her name she said Jackie ha then I found the store manager card come to find out Jackie is the store manager. Jackie needs much more customer service training and less attitude if she expect customers to return to her store. The district manager should definitely do something about Jackie’s attitude all other employees were sweet and nice expect her rude self. This store should get training from commercial and university store they are full blown busy all the time and still manager to be supppperrr sweet and nice...
Read moreThe entire morning shift on 1/16/25 was horrible. I walked, was not greeted. There are 2 "baristas" standing at the empty drive thru window chatting, 2 "baristas" standing in front of the bar making one drink, and then you have donnetta who walked out of the back and stood at the register in front of me, did not greet me but literally stared in my face for a while minute. And then I asked " are you the manager" ( because I was ready to tell her this is poor service) she said "no is that what you're waiting for" I said no I'm waiting to be greeted and place my order. To which she responded, " oh I see you on the phone. Ma'am!!! I have been standing here for 5 minutes waiting for y'all I literally just picked up my phone. The worst service ever. I walked out. Without coffee. I'm never coming back here.
I came back to update my post simply to add, I worked at Starbucks in New York in one of the busiest areas near the world trade center. NEVER was my team too busy to shout out welcome to Starbucks! I know what is expected of employees that work here! Howie would cringe!!!! This is not the starbucks experience we are trained to deliver. The more I think about it, the more disappointed I am. Reading other reviews with similar experiences is even more cringing. Send these employees to mandatory retraining on how to deliver the Starbucks experience. This is completely...
