We've lived here for 3 years, drive by this place several times a week, and have heard numerous times about how good the burgers are. Haven't we all had people say that about places in the past only to find out it was simply mediocre at best? Yeah yeah yeah right? That's why I prepare for the worst and hope for the best. It's in a little strip mall with limited parking on a busy road , really not too fancy on the outside and honestly so much easier to drive by than it is to stop. Having said that, DO STOP! It's a quaint place that you won't expect to see when you open the door, and has a full bar in the back. When ordering, I asked the bartender what he liked and he said "I like it all. " What a canned answer right? Well I haven't had it all, and I'm not sure how I will because my first choice was the Bruiser Burger, (I really went out on a limb huh?) With fries. The bartender started talking about how they use certain tastes to accentuate the other tastes and yeah yeah yeah I felt like I was at some sort of a fine wine tasting and I dont do wine. Lol. I saw it had pimento cheese with red pepper jam (whatever that is) and country style bacon is on a pretzel bun so I decided to give that one a whirl since I didnt have 20 minutes to hear about all the other burgers and I was pretty hungry too. For the record I in no way was upset at all for the detailed descriptions I was just in a hurry and really hungry too. Less then 10 minutes later here it came and it looked pretty good anyways. The fries are unique in thier own way and they are pretty good indeed....and then there's that burger, what about that heard about so many times infamous burger??? Let's just say don't wear your favorite socks when you go cause this burger will knock them right off! I'm not sure what accentuated what but Let's just say I went home that day sockless. Can I say WOW! My only regret is we haven't been there 2 times a week every week. We've had some $15 burgers with a side here locally that we would drive out of our way to get. Then there's Bruisers. Don't make the same mistake we did and just drive on by. Holy hell Wow was it good. We're definitely going back but sockless next time! Enjoy! I'll post some...
Read moreWe finally had the opportunity to try Bruisers Burgers in Surfside…. And it was fantastic.
We originally planned to eat in however my toddler fell asleep so we decided not to wake her and to save everyone from listening to a miserable toddler post a ten minute nap 🤣
First, I will say; staff were exceptional (Trinity F.) I stayed in the car with the sleeping kiddo while my ten year old ran in to get a menu. He was the liaison between a sleeping toddler and a take out order. He went in to pay and pick up and said they were all very friendly and treated him kindly.
We decided to try a mix of things. We ordered fresh guac and a queso sauce with nachos. Both dips delicious, and it was plenty. We also ordered a trio of sauces to try.. they gave us their top three and they were all so good (bruiser sauce, truffle mayo and spicy ranch.) For the toddler, we grabbed a grilled cheese and fries (the grilled cheese was huge!) the FRIES were delicious - seasoned and cooked perfectly. The main event was the burgers!!! You could taste that they were made fresh and with love! They were cooked perfectly.. a medium cook and the flavours were amazing. My son had the South Paw (pulled pork burger) and I had the welter which had Swiss and arugula. We were both full after eating HALF of the burger!! Clearly, burgers is their jam - and the hype about this place is well deserved. Very well priced.. all of this food only cost $50…
The only complaint was that we hit traffic on the way home and had to smell the deliciousness, whilst salivating for far too long 😜 Give them a try- you won’t be disappointed. We’ll be back...
Read moreWARNING: Big review incoming. Came in having an idea what our first burger to try out would be after looking at their menu online. Completely pivoted and going with one of the unique specials they offered. NO regrets and we were thoroughly IMPRESSED.
Starting with service, Joshua provided honest insightful information about our burger choice and the patty which really helped in the decision-making process. I could sense the passion for the food Bruiser's has to offer not only for our table, but listening to how he interacted with surrounding tables as well. It made me feel confident in what we ordered and service with Joshua. Thank you for your enthusiasm.
The Wildcard patty on the Welter burger cooked medium rare was such a wise suggestion. Patty consisted of elk, bison, wild boar, and wagyu beef. Not going to lie, I smelled the burger before taking a bite because I was skeptical of the combination. The aroma was enticing, that juicy first bite was EVERYTHING, nothing about this was gamey. If you're not a picky eater, I also suggest keeping everything that's on that burger and don't add any condiments. The toppings really enhanced the already excellently seasoned burger patty and you could really enjoy that meat! Hand cut fries were also seasoned well and has such a nice crispiness. We didn't leave a crumb.
Overall had such a fantastic experience and we expect continued greatness...
