Los Gordibuenos — Restaurant in Surfside Beach

I tried a few ítem here with my daughter. We had the empanada, tacos, and quesadillas and ended with an order of the churros. The tacos are small and cost 3 Backstreet pero taco so it seems to be almost a la cart. The quesadillas came with rice and beans which wasn't mention on the menú but was a nice touch and the empanada was underneath a thing of salad so when it came I couldn't even see it. I have never been to a place that covered the empanada like that. Our waitress Marina was super helpful and nice. There was a man working who I thought was the owner but it turns out his mom is but he is okay. He seems knowledgable in food and helped bridge the gap whenever Marina couldn't explanada something too well in English after I asked her something menú relate. THE churros were our favorite thing that my daughter and I tried. Also if you're on the fence about trying the lengua (tongue) taco, give it a try. It doesn't have the slimey texture I pexpected it to have an instead felt very tender and soft.

Edit: I've since visited a few more times including yesterday but the food and service just gets worse. The man who greeted me yesterday when I placed a take out order just acted rude and like he didn't want to be there. There weren't any customers when I came in. Last time I dined in before that, my waitress took my order but didn't tell me she'd be leaving for the day so I waited forever and had to flag down someone else to order refills and order churros. I always tip well even with the service going downhill but I won't...

I have to give a shoutout to Gloria, she came and seated us right away and she was the best waitress we’ve had while we’ve been on this trip so far! If you want real authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go. It’s truly a hidden gem, from the outside you’d never think they have such good food but it’s awesome! The beans and rice are amazing. I could a chimichanga with shrimp and they loaded it up on the shrimp. Not sure what kind of cheese they used in it but it was so good. The waitress Gloria was super sweet she checked on us multiple times. My fiancé is deaf and she was so polite and took the time to repeat herself if he needed her too. Holy cow! We were looking for some Mexican food while visiting myrtle beach area (we're from WV) and stumbled upon this absolutely AMAZING mexican restaurant! It didn't look like much at first, but our server was absolutely wonderful, super friendly, and when the food (quickly) came out, we were blown away by how absolutely delicious and AUTHENTIC it tasted! We frequent mexican restaurants back home. And this one blew them all away. We were joking about how when we go home, our favorite restaurant there will now seem so mediocre in comparison, lol.
