Came in today for brunch. I have eaten here multiple times and chose to keep coming back because the food, and the service is usually great. However today I had a different server and can't say the same. She lacked guest service skills, and also her verbiage was off. They were somewhat busy so I can understand maybe being in the weeds. However, what I can't understand is the lack of communication and the non-chalant attitude from my server. I asked for an alcoholic drink at first. Being here multiple times, I wasn't expected to get ID'd. She ID'd me as that is her job I guess, but I didn't have my ID on me. Okay it's fine, so I order a coffee. Usually the 15 times I've been here they bring me the vanilla iced coffee already made. When she brought me my coffee she brought the coffee in a glass and something in a smaller shot glass. I was confused, but she was nowhere to be found. Very basic and inattentive. Then when I asked her why it wasn't presented as it usually was she said "because you can't do it yourself with the creams on the table other servers probably made it for you that way but I'm not going to" honestly the attitude, verbiage, and lack of hospitality had me upset. As a server, you make your earning by hospitality, and being attentive. Why be in the industry if you just don't want to do those things? Also I have worked in a high volume restaurant where I would be extremely busy, and I didn't have a busier to clean my tables, and still maintained a good attitude and presented myself positively. You have a busser cleaning your tables to help you and you still act like that blows my mind. Leaving 5 stars for the manager because he made it right and the server I ended up switching...
Read moreStopped in for breakfast mid week in early Novemver, and sat down right away. Upon sitting down, our server Davis, was close by, and took our drink order. One key factor when going out for breakfast is how quickly I sit down until I get my coffee. Needless to say, No sooner did I order, did I get my coffee, along with a put full of coffee to refill as I see fit. The menu is vast, with a huge selection to choose from. I opted for the Chipolte Bacon Skiller (Golden brown home fries, scrambled eggs, bacon, house pickled jalapeños, Baby Bella mushrooms, cheddar jack cheese, drizzled with chipotle sauce & topped with guacamole. Served with an English muffin) Have had breakfast skillets before that are cooked or at least serves in cast iron skillets. While not a big deal, clearly the meal is not cooked in the skillet and is merely served in a plastic skillet. Not a big deal, being it was super tasty . Probably would have been a 4 star rating after another guest in my party ordered blueberry pancakes with the breakfast. The meal was served by another server, and blueberry pancakes were not served. Davis, realized this, and offered to bring out a fresh order of pancakes. Not wanting to make a big deal, the offer was politely declined. As a compromise, a small dish of blueberries arrived to add to the plain pancakes. Top not customer service in my eyes. Throughout our meal Davis continued to provide a great customer service experience making our meal enjoyable. Was here in July during the peak season, and had a similar experience with great food and great customer service, when it was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat place for breakfast. My lovely wife and I decided to go out for breakfast and decided on a place we havenā t tried before, Johnny Dās down in Surfside. The Parking lot was crowded but we were seated right away for there was plenty of room. Our waitress came over right away and took our drink orders. When she came back with them we were ready to order. My lovely wife got a classic waffle and a side of scrambled eggs and bacon , which she put on top. She said everything was hot and tasty. I order a Irish Benedict which was 2 poached eggs over homemade corned beef on English muffin smothered in Hollandaise Sauce with a side of grits. Now where do I start..... I must say that this was the best grits I have every had. I donāt know how they made them so good but I was wishing for a bigger bowl when I was done. AND the homemade hash was out of this world. It was real homemade. Made with cubed corned beef not smashed corned beef you get at other places. This corned beef had tons of flavor. The waitress was super friendly. Came over and asked us if everything was okay and tasted good . She was always there refreshing our drinks. Another plus for this restaurant was the manager came over and asked us if everything was up to par. She was real friendly and talked with us for about ten minutes. All around I give this restaurant an A++. For atmosphere, service and food. When you come to Myrtle Beach make sure you hit up Johnny Dās in Surfside. Once you go there, you will be...
