I have been eating at Sushi Republic for 15 years. This is my favorite restaurant. The quality and consistency of the food is always perfect. I have eaten at trendy, high priced sushi restaurants and they don't hold a candle to Sushi Republic. They have dishes that I haven't found at any other restaurants. For instance, the spicy tofu is something that you can't find anywhere else. The dish is an elevated version of age tofu with a sauce that is extraordinary (it is only mildly spicy, so don't be afraid). I miss the specials that they had before the pandemic. Sushi Republic's miso salmon was so tasty. It was much better than the miso black cod I had at a different overpriced restaurant that will remain unnamed in this review. My wife and I have so many great memories at this restaurant. If you haven't eaten at Sushi Republic, give it a try and I know you will be happy...
Read moreMy family and I have been dining at Sushi Republic for the past 10 years at least. Last night I complained to the manager and the waiter about trying to be tricked into tipping twice. Service charge, tip and suggested gratuity are all the same. This is done to try to catch unaware customers into tipping twice. Had I not been paying attention from previous experience at other restaurants I would've ended up tipping over $42 on a $121 tab. Tipping used to be 15% customary and at the discretion of the customer. Neither the manager nor the waiter offered an apology. Most likely they will continue trying to cheat customers into double tipping but my family and I will now eat there anymore nor order...

Their ginger dressing is downright addictive, the sushi is always so fresh it might as well introduce itself, and the Hibiscus Roll (with soy paper or not) is my ride-or-die order.
Everyone here knows me, and honestly, I get treated like royalty—probably because I show up every time I’m in Miami like it’s my second home. I live between Atlanta and Bal Harbour, and let me tell you, when I’m away, I go through withdrawals. No sushi place anywhere compares.
If you’re not looking for a Bal Harbour-style “see and be seen” moment where your outfit costs more than your meal, this is the spot. And honestly? I’d choose Sushi Republic over...
