Let me start off by saying, the moment we walked in , there was a strong smell of old wet rag smell. I started looking to see if there was anywhere to sit outside because it’s impossible to eat in that smell. The front ladies acted like they are working for a high end restaurant when it’s far from it based on the food, smell of the restaurant, and the service. The lady told us to leave our stroller in the front, which is fine except they don’t have high chairs for babies. I have traveled everywhere and never seen a restaurant not have a high chair. Even a low end Denny’s has a high chair. Lollll. Next, they asked my husband to remove his Versace hat , another lol as it was 5pm daytime and you are located in a mall. The manager was by far the most rude and ugly energy person I had ever met. My friend had warned me as she had found hair in her food the day before. Really wish I had listened. I got up and left so quick. We decided to go elsewhere (carpaccio) where the service, food, atmosphere is impeccable and high end unlike this high end Denny’s. Save yourself the trouble. The positive reviews must be the employees. I can’t imagine anyone leaving a positive review for a place that smells this disgusting.

This is a 2.5 star review, I was very underwhelmed. I started with the spinach and artichoke dip their famous for and based on how bland it was, I could not order anything else savory from the menu. The sour cream was scooped right out of a grocery store container and the salas was from a jar. I'm baffled with a kitchen full of staff. Speaking of staff, all but a few stood around laughing and talking with one another refusing to give me eye contact for service. I have never seen such laziness during a pandemic era where people want you to over top. For shame. There's a quite small lost of cocktails and the bartenders only know those few drinks. No deviations, no creativity. They're there simply to staff the bar. Two lone wait staff, a woman and a man who may have been a supervisor were clearly a little embarrassed for my treatment came to talk and ask how things were going. I told the male I was displeased with the cocktail and the appetizer and asked was there anything really good for dessert. He recommended the Tres Leche and it was indeed very good. I captured a picture for my review. Out of $40 meal, this was the only thing that save this review from being a single, lone star. SMH

I've had the pleasure of dining at Hillstone several times, and each visit has been consistently delightful. The atmosphere exudes a relaxed vibe, allowing guests to unwind while enjoying the charming surroundings of the nearby shops. The staff is always welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Now, let's talk about the food – it's simply outstanding. One of my favorite items from the menu is the deviled eggs. I'm typically not a fan of eggs, but Hillstone's version is truly exceptional. The French Dip Au Jus is also a standout, but my absolute favorite is the Ding's Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It's so flavorful that it never fails to impress. And if I'm watching my carb intake, I opt for the sandwich without the bread, which is just as satisfying. Additionally, the spicy and creamy coleslaw and tabbouleh with lemon vinaigrette sides always complement the meal perfectly. With such a fantastic dining experience, I'm already looking forward to my next visit and trying out something new from the menu!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hillstone Restaurant in Bal Harbour, and I am delighted to share my glowing 5-star review of this exceptional dining establishment.

From the moment I entered Hillstone, I was greeted by an atmosphere of timeless elegance and sophistication. The restaurant's sleek and stylish decor, paired with warm lighting and comfortable seating, created the perfect ambiance for a memorable dining experience.

The cuisine at Hillstone is nothing short of extraordinary. Drawing inspiration from classic American fare with a modern twist, each dish is expertly crafted using the finest ingredients and executed with precision. From the mouthwatering steaks and fresh seafood to the innovative salads and decadent desserts, every bite was a symphony of flavors that delighted the palate.

One of the highlights of my dining experience at Hillstone was the impeccable service. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely hospitable, ensuring that every aspect of my meal was nothing short of perfect. From recommendations on wine pairings to accommodating special dietary requests, their professionalism and attention to detail were truly commendable.

The ambiance at Hillstone is equally impressive. Whether dining in the chic indoor dining room or enjoying al fresco seating with views of the picturesque surroundings, guests are treated to a dining experience that is both refined and relaxed.

In conclusion, Hillstone Restaurant at Bal Harbour surpassed all of my expectations and earned its well-deserved 5-star rating. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving an unforgettable meal, Hillstone offers a culinary experience that is second to none. Thank you, Hillstone Restaurant, for an extraordinary dining experience—I can't wait to return for another...

⭐ Hillstone Bal Harbour – Where Your Hat Offends the Universe and Your Dignity Gets Appetizer-Sized 💔🧢

Ah yes, Hillstone — where the steaks are overpriced, the vibes are elite, and your baseball hat is apparently a federal offense. 😑🥩🚨

I arrived in a clean, classy baseball cap (not backwards, not sideways, not bedazzled with rhinestones or political slogans). Just… a hat. A quiet, humble hat. 🧢✨ But before I could even sit down and inhale overpriced lettuce, the host swooped in like the fashion police on steroids and said, in the most performatively passive-aggressive tone possible: "You need to remove your hat." Not a whisper. Not a discreet side comment. No gentle tap. Nope — a loud command in front of a crowd of diners who suddenly looked at me like I just walked in wearing a bikini made of spaghetti. 🍝👀

Mind you, several other guests were wearing hats, headbands, and fashion disasters that should've been banned first. But my hat? Oh no. Mine was apparently disturbing the ambiance. 🙃

Pro tip, Hillstone: If you’re going to enforce a dress code, how about doing it with a whisper of class, not a megaphone of shame? Ever heard of quiet luxury? Try quiet hat rules. 🧢💅

The Rest of the Experience?

Food? Mid. Like… emotionally unavailable ex-mid.

Service? Clearly trained by TSA agents.

Atmosphere? Ruined after being hat-shamed like I was about to perform a striptease. 😤🍽️

Final Verdict: If you want a side of public embarrassment with your tuna tartare, Hillstone is perfect for you. But if you like dignity, privacy, and the freedom to accessorize above your eyebrows — skip it. There are plenty of restaurants in Bal Harbour that don’t treat your hat like it’s a national security...

Let me start by saying that Hillstone Restaurant at Bal Harbour Shops knows how to serve up some tasty dishes! 🍔🍤 The food was scrumptious, leaving our taste buds doing a happy dance. Kudos for making our palates sing with delight! 👨‍🍳🎶

But here's where the laughter (and some frustration) ensues. 😄🤦‍♂️ Despite the delectable fare, Hillstone seems to have forgotten about the little ones. No children's menu 🧒🚫 It's a missed opportunity, Hillstone! 🎨🍽️

To make matters even more amusing (in a slightly exasperating way), they had us waiting for about an hour before finally seating us. Despite making us endure the wait, they didn't validate our parking! 💔🚗 It's like they were saying, "Thanks for your patience, now please pay extra for your parked car as a token of our appreciation." How thoughtful! 🤑🚫

All jokes aside, the service at Hillstone was actually quite good. The staff was friendly, attentive, and did their best to make our dining experience enjoyable. Kudos to them for their professionalism and warm smiles! 😊👏

In the end, Hillstone Restaurant at Bal Harbour Shops delivered on flavor but fell short in some areas. While the absence of a children's menu and the lack of parking validation were annoying, the overall dining experience and delicious food made up for these shortcomings. If you're willing to overlook those minor issues, give it a try! Just be prepared to keep your little ones entertained and your wallet ready for an extra...
