Dairy Queen — Restaurant in Susquehanna Township

Ordered a blizzard cake from them. Not your typical birthday cake. We wanted a funny saying for my husbands last day at his job. It was supposed to read "You're dead to us. We hope you fail." It was repeated back to me accurately, and didn't think there would be a need to spell it out as they are all common English words. When I picked it up, the words were poorly spaced, some words crammed and others far apart. Some of the lettering was thick and some thin (clearly not purposefully done for fun emphasizing affect). When they asked me check it, it said "Your dead to us. We you fail!" You're was spelled wrong and he totally missed the hope. As I said earlier, everything was unevenly spaced so when he went to correct it he attempted to put hope in a bigger opening, however it would have then read "We you hope fail". If I would have had more time, I would have went to giant and bought a different cake. It looked like a 10 year old did it. To the point my husband was amazed when I said it came from dairy queen with such poor quality. The only reason 2 stars were given was bc the cake was delicious and they offered an EMS discount. Arrived at 8:53 tonight, and they close at 9. I only wanted two small blizzards. Young girl RAN out from behind counter jingling keys and stated they’re closed. Open sign was still lit, clock inside the store ready 8:55. She had a HUGE attitude and pulled out her cell phone to read the time - 8:56 at this point. Stated they needed to clean up. I said that when you’re open until 9, then you’re open until 9 and not 8:55. She then said it’s been a slow night. I replied that slow nights don’t change your opening hours. The other girl behind the counter was sweet, took my order and made it. I walked out of the store and was back in my car by 9:02. If she wouldn’t have argued with me, I would’ve been out before 9 anyway. There were two other customers who came to the door before 9, but she turned them away as she locked the door.

This location continues to disappoint me every time we go. Music is always very loud, and lyrics are crazy inappropriate for a family ice cream shop. Staff is never the same, always seem to be moving so...incredibly...slow. Can’t find a phone number to actually talk to local management. Corporate doesn’t care. So disappointing because this place could be...

I had the most disappointing experience at this particular Dairy Queen location. 😔 I mean, seriously, if I could give them a 0-star rating, I totally would! The management there was beyond rude, and it just completely ruined the whole vibe of the place. I couldn't believe how they treated their customers. It's like they didn't even care about providing good service.

But you know what? Despite the terrible management, I have to give credit to the staff members who were actually trying their best to help. They were the only silver lining in this whole ordeal. I could see that they genuinely cared about making things right, but unfortunately, they were overshadowed by the overall negative atmosphere.

Honestly, if you're thinking of visiting this Dairy Queen, I would strongly advise against it. Look for another location nearby, because this one definitely left a bad no taste in my mouth. I'm all about supporting local businesses, but in this case, I think it's worth exploring...
