I really hope the owners see this review. I hope they turn this place around because it has been on our rotation for a long time. As a customer of a fast casual restaurant, I only want 3 things:
Our last experience failed terribly. It was a complete waste of money. Food was delivered cold. Salad was wet. As in, wet lettuce. So much so that water pooled at the bottom of the bowl. Yuk. Didn't get any dressing. Waitress never even asked what I wanted. Had to wave someone down to ask for salad dressing. A man, which appeared to the be the manager, just stopped at the table and stared at me. I said can I get some salad dressing. He ran off. Didn't say "sorry we missed that", didn't ask "what kind do you want". Nothing. Just ran off. We got part of our order first, fajita plate. Then 10 mins later the rest. So, meat went cold. Finally got salad dressing. Not what I wanted, had to ask again. Salad dressing was a packet of off the shelf brand tossed on the table. The food was mostly inedible. Fajitas were burned, tortillas were dry and stiff, tacos were cold and tasteless, salad was wet and nothing but lettuce. Our waitress was missing the whole time. She finally appeared at the end when it was time to pay the bill. She was chatting us up I assume hoping for a good tip. Good try but no. We had to wave people down the whole time. Other tables in the dining area looked pretty frustrated as well. This was not a busy time of the day.
We used to love this place and it was on our regular rotation. Unfortunately, not any more. I sincerely hope the owners fix the problems. If I start seeing glowing reviews we'll try again. But for now, not going to spend our hard...
Read moreI have been going Monterrey for over twenty years and sadly that chapter has ended. Monterrey has been a Suwanee go to for decades and we remained loyal even when the quality declined and the prices went up - for one reason - it felt like home - the staff was like family! My children have celebrated almost ever single birthday at Monterrey and the are now between 13 and 17 and the reason they always picked Monterrey was because of MARTA!! She always made them feel special and loved! It would be no surprise to anyone in Suwanee when meeting somewhere to eat after a game or church or a random Friday night everyone said Monterrey and everyone claimed to have a special connection with their waitress- Marta!! Marta made ever single one of her customers feel like they were the most important family to her ❤️ I can’t count how many times we chose to wait to be sat with Marta because “everyone wants to sit with Marta” Sadly Monterrey made the worst decision ever to let Marta go!!! People didn’t keep coming there for the food or out of convenience- there are a million Mexican restaurants in Suwanee - we came there for Marta!! Marta is a Suwanee staple - people will follow her no matter where she does next - we will find a new go to spot - wherever Marta is!! What a sad sad mistake you made Monterrey!! You won’t last long once all of Suwanee finds out...
Read moreAs a long time customer, I am very disappointed. We had ordered cheese dip to start on, and our server had given it to the wrong table resulting in us having to ask again for it. When we received it, it had jalapeños in it when specifically said no jalapeños, so we had to get it again. We got our cheese dip after 20 minutes of waiting when half of our meals came out. We waited another 10-15 minutes for the rest of our food and when that came out, my order was wrong and I had to ask for it again. They gave me one taco that of a 3 taco plate that I had ordered, which came out after another 10 minutes. The manager was on his phone the whole time taking calls in the middle of the restaurant and not trying to fix anything or make it right. He was so focused on his phone that a server had to squeeze past him with a full load of dishes in her hands and he didn’t move for her. Between orders being wrong and coming out at different times, getting appetizers at the same time as our order, and the manager not paying attention to anything going on, they just lost my family’s business. Whatever change happened since I was last there has left it like a chicken with its...
