Service: Everyone we encountered or had an interaction with were super attentive and courteous. From the young lady greeting you and the server/cook to the owner who stopped by and asked how our meal was. I would give them 5 stars just for the service alone.

Ambiance/Location: Beautifully constructed and adorned. They spent a lot of time and effort putting this place together. My favorite thing were the liquor lockers. If you buy a bottle there you can have them hold it in your very own locker for your next visit.

Food: for those reading other reviews complaining about the lack of flavor, that is a common complaint about Korean BBQ. All places, like Anjoo, provide salt and some condiments so you can add flavor/seasoning to the cuts of meat that don’t come preseasoned like the marinated steak. Very typical for Korean BBQ.

The cuts of meat are tender and our server prepared our tenderloin and Ribeye perfectly medium. Props to him. The side dishes tasted great. However, some of the typical side dishes that I get often at other places were not part of their options. In fact, some of the things included in places like 9292 were noticeably missing. For example, the hot tea, the eggs, cheesy corn, seasoned rice sheets and the desert at the end to name a few. The prices here are in line with most KBBQ places but they definitely give you less than other places. Maybe it’s because they are in Suwanee instead of off of pleasant hill rd. This and the reason below are why I have rated them with 3 stars (since I can’t give them 3.5).

The food was good overall. However, my biggest issue is the cooking plate itself. The best BBQ places use coal fired plates or some form of open flame to cook and infuse the meat with that char flavor that takes the meal to the next level. They try to get this done with a handheld torch as shown in the picture I included. First, I prefer a natural flame instead of a fuel induced flame. Second, a natural flame does a better job of adding that BBQ flavor to the meat.

Conclusion: I would come back for the service alone. Definitely happy there is a decent Korean BBQ place close to home so I can avoid driving down to pleasant hill. I will definitely be back since the food was decent and the service was exceptional. However, if I want a more authentic (meaning an open flame cook) experience I would definitely visit a place like...

It was completely ripoff. Almost $400 with tip for 3 persons. This was ridiculous! I could not believe my see when I saw the bill. I would say the server was nice and polite. The food was ok. But they are ridiculously expensive and not worthing the money! The menu and price on smart device were very confusing and blurring when we were trying to order in the first place. We never thought the prices are $141 or $138 instead of 41 or 38. Yes, they are not 41/38. Surprisingly none of us caught that at the beginning. That was why we thought one set is not enough for 3 persons and we ordered two big sets. But the lady who took our order did not stop us or did not even tell us one set is enough for 3 person. I do not know if she did this on purpose or not. If you see customer order more food than they can consume, as a common sense, should you remind them and suggest them to cut back, or at least explain to them what the food are so that customer do not have misunderstanding? This is a basic norm as a person, as a profession or as honest business, right?

This was Thanksgiving night. I did not call out to their manager. Because we did not want to ruin our mood and the atmosphere. Maybe this was the reason they took advantage of us.

You will need to understand that for a business to be able to successful and grow, you need to be honest, ethical, professional and think from customer's standard point. You will fail sooner to later if you just try steal money from customer. Believe me!

You cheated us one time. There will be no other time. And you will never earn business from my...

Update: Its been a year since i posted the glowing review below but after today's experience I sadly must rescind my approval. There was word on the street that Anjoo came under new management recently and based on the food I got from my take out order today, it sounds like the rumors are true. I was utterly disappointed by their AKFC (Fried chicken) and their smoked bossam (which, in my opinion, was their best most distinguishing dish). I will sadly absolutely not be returning and bid farewell to a once beloved establishment. I added a photo of the utterly bone dry smoked bossam meat that i tried and failed to power through and finish.

Original: Of the many Korean restaurants in the Atlanta area, I can confidently say as a Korean American, that this is one of my top two favorite places. We live 30 minutes away and make an effort to eat here at least once every two weeks. While the barbecue is great, this place's greatest strength is it's appetizers and entrees. They have the fundamentals DOWN, not to be confused with being stuck in strictly traditional Korean cooking (They will adapt and adjust their menu as needed). I highly recommend: Smoked Bossam (I haven't had better, even in Korea), Seafood Pajeon, (and oddly enough) Anju Slider, and my wife loves their Bean Paste Stew. This is just one of those places where you know everything tastes good so you keep going back to try other things on their menu. I haven't tried out a lot of their beverage selection but their Slow Village Makgeoli is hands down the best Makgeoli...
