We visited this restaurant to spend the evening of mother's day together as a family, with the expectation that this establishment would provide a decent service.
Nothing spectacular, but fitting of its rating and price range.
We were disappointed to say the least.
Regarding the food, the quality of the fish was as expected- satisfactory.
However, everything else was mediocre at best with some aspects being entirely awful.
The tuna carpaccio was well made- decent quality fish with capers and parmesan.
The rolls and nigiri were, as mentioned, with decent quality fish; but the rice was a bit overcooked and a bit too wet to be proper sushi rice- nonetheless in the realm of understandability.
I had the Tonkotsu ramen, and I was blown away by how the eggs in the ramen were so extremely overcooked; hard boiled to the point of green yolks and rubbery whites.
Now the real problem: the service.
The service was absolutely atrocious.
To begin with, other parties in the restaurant were provided a slice of lemon with their water but not us.
Also, some of the plates and cups had not been washed properly and had residue of food left on them.
But that's no problem- we could always tell the server ourselves, do their job for them, right?
This we would have- if it wasn't for the fact that the server did not check on us a single time throughout the entirety of our night.
The only times he'd come over to our table were when he had initially taken our orders and when he was bringing out the food, which happened in 15~20 minute intervals.
At this point one might think this is being too harsh- isn't taking 15 or so minutes between the appetizer and the main course an understandable amount of time?
If you'd thought that, you'd be mistaken.
This establishment once again went above and beyond to make sure the evening was as horrid as possible, as the 15~20 minute intervals occurred between each of the main courses for each of the individuals.
By the time the last of the menus were served, a good fourty-five minutes after the first, some of us were finished entirely with the meal.
Unbelievable.
Were the latter dishes something that would typically take a bit of time to make?
Again, not in the slightest.
That is, unless there has been an inexplicable change in the culinary world that made it so that sushi rice bowls and tuna rolls take over an hour to make.
The server did say that the restaurant was "busy" and that there were complications in the kitchen, and hearing that was an experience that had broadened my horizons to the next level.
Before this moment, I didn't know that a restaurant could be "busy" while being only about 40%~ 45% full.
Even if that was true, it confounded me as to why that would be a reason for us to have to understand being subject to sub-par levels of food and service while paying the same full price.
I don't believe we've been surprised so much by the quality of what seems like it should be a decent restaurant, and hope to never have such an...
Read moreCUSTOMER SERVICE HERE IS TERRIBLE. Ordered here through Uber eats with friends. they called and told us 30-40 minutes after we placed the order that one of the items was off the lunch menu so we couldn’t have it and we needed to replace it. They recommended a replacement (said NOTHING about a price increase) and so we went with it. An hour later our Uber driver called saying that the restaurant was telling him that all the items were off the lunch menu and we were $30 short (without taxes and Uber fees). We explained that in the app it didn’t tell us that it was the lunch menu at all, and they did NOT care. They just didn’t care that we were inconvenienced, that our food was VERY late, and that the poor Uber driver was just trying his best. We ended up having to drive to the restaurant ourselves and even after all this they would not give us our food for anything other than the largely unreasonable price one their “dinner menu” WHICH IS NOT THE PRICES IN UBER EATS. At this point it was LATE and we were so fed up. So we did it, but they did NOT care about customer service, or that it wasn’t our fault or our poor Uber eats drivers fault. It was between them and...
Read moreI wish i could review the food, but we were never served. In fact, we never even had the chance to give our order to anyone. Let me take a step back—we went to our usual sushi spot, but found that it was closed for renovations 😔, so we decided to try Sushi Nami, just a few steps down the road. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy at all; maybe 1/4 full, so we were seated quickly. My husband and I gave our drink orders, and then asked if the sushi could be made with soy paper instead of seaweed. Apparently, that was the death blow, because our server mumbled something and then disappeared to parts unknown. Now, i will gladly agree with a previous reviewer who said that the restaurant itself was lovely, but all of the servers seemed to congregate in the back of the restaurant. It’s a real shame, too, because i was really wanting some delicious sushi! I guess i will wait to try again, as they just opened, but I don’t know if they’re quite ready for a crowd just yet. (Yes,...
