We made a reservation for my mom's birthday couple nights ago. Loved the ambience, the place was bustling.
Immediately was greeted as we walked in and staff guided us to our table.
Got the edamame and okonomyaki as appetizers. Had a 10-15 min wait on the okonomiyaki, and both were delicious and well worth the wait. I was surprised how savory it was, you don't get that greasy mouth feel and the vegetables were crisp as well as the pieces of seafood and the right amount of seasoning and it was not too salty. Each bite was phenomenal.
Split the miso soup and oyako Don for our two toddlers. No kids meal, but the udon or donburo always seems like a safe bet the kids will enjoy.
The adults got the Sushi Sogo. OMG! Fresh 👏 as 👏 can 👏 be!
Told our waitress how delicious the sushi was and she said they have a vendor that ships straight from Japan.
Yes, you're paying a premium, but I recall my last trip to Japan being blown away by the freshness of sushi there. But this wins hands down the best meal I've had in a loooo g time.
Each piece was so carefully crafted and had so much umami and look at the attention to detail! Each Nigiri that had a small pea size topping had varying flavors and personality that played well with each bite. Some of the Sashimi had sweetness to it on top of the fatties and complimented by pickled ginger to cleanse your palate and fresh 🍃 wasabi!
If the owners see this review and would like to point out the types of fish and the different toppings for each Nigiri, I'd love to learn exactly what was in it. But no worries, I will be back for sure!
Even this morning I told my wife how much of an impression the sushi had on me. Everything was spot on and our waitress had a busy busy night, but made every effort to make it a pleasant evening. Sushi Sogo was truly a work of art. My trip to Japan won't be for awhile, but this team truly brought a piece of their culture here in Suwanee and have to admit some of the best sushi I've had in my life.
Will be back 💯! Thank you MoRi House for a...
Read moreIn wanting to be fair, this review is of a Saturday evening, for a take out order which I made in person. I agree with other reviewers in that the food is excellent, however, $12.84 is not a reasonable price for one order of fried rice, nor is waiting over 1 hour and 15 minutes for it. The good service noted by some reviewers does not extend to the front counter where placing take out occurs or where patrons come to get on the table waiting list. I watched two couples leave in frustration at not even being able to have someone put them on the waiting list. It's comical the way the wait staff avoids eye contact with those at the front wanting their attention. It's worthy of a Seinfeld episode. Wait staff pretends to stare at the food they're carrying as if it's addressing them in a conversation or flick their heads in another direction a split second before facing you and they also speed up as they walk past the front counter. So for Saturday evening visits or take out, plan to have your phone fully charged or come with a good conversationalist to help pass the time because you'll have plenty before the staff notices you- - but there's no guarantee they will. Update 11/12/22 - Against my better judgement but to appease my son, returned for a to-go order of fried rice and miso soup. Well, I was told they don't have fried rice (isn't that like going to Chik-fil-A and being told they don't have chicken, I mean Mori House is "supposedly" a Japanese restaurant) and the "one size" miso soup couldn't fill a kitty cup ice cream container. The portions are smaller and the prices are...
Read moreIt was my first time ordering from This restaurant. The higher scale of 4.6 stars o google made it promising. Yet, it was a bit disappointing , the roll I have Ordered, Cost thirteen dollars, and was one of the most midioker sushi rolls . The inside components were uneven which affected the overall taste. It was a small roll that would theses days would not cost more than 9 dollars at other restaurants which had better and more balanced rolls than ti's place . I have ordered also a bento box which cost 19 dollars and roughly had a 4oz salmon in it. The packaging was big while the content was lame . House salad is only lettuce not even on cherry tomato or one slice of cucumber. Luckily I have these ingredients at home. The thirsty item I have ordered was a vegetarian Ramen soup although it was the3/4vof the size of a Ramen soup if ordered anywhere else at least it has an acceptable amount of veggies in it . Not sure it worth more that 12 dollars when the actual cost was 15. Since I am sushi fanatic who loves sushi done right. I can easily say that although the foid tasted good it was 40% over priced compared to other much better sushi places in the area when two of my all time favorite are Mika French sushi in sugar hill Revolving sushi factory in buford. If you have been to these places you know what I mean. Don't think I'll be coming back...
