Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Suwanee

Update! This Rita's has a new owner and she is so nice! This place is still the same even with new beautiful faces working there. I went in yesterday around 7pm thinking I would be good and get myself a large cup, grab my husband one and a quart BUT someone tempted me! Lol! For some who may not know if you get 3 quarts they are all $15. As you can tell by my pictures I do this often. Lol! I've been coming here for years and I made so many memories and looking forward to making more here. It's also nice to know they still have someone from the old staff working there even though me and her never saw each other before! Lol! But also some of the old crew come back to work over the summer! They also brought tasting back! And remember to get a treat for your fur baby! Come to Rita's in Suwanee!!!!

1st rating Most amazing place EVER! The owner is really nice and very responsive. He definitely remembers his customers and doesn't mind you requesting a flavor you want. The staff is new but they are nice. They have Gelato and cookies now! It's great for family or even for a date night. Sometimes they do things for schools which shows this place is really with the community. When COVID-19 hit and the store was close they set up stands in neighborhoods where people can still get their italian ice. Seriously give this place a try. I come on a hard day and even when I am having a great day. You will not regret this. I don't over exaggerate. Lol. You will love this place. Oh yeah! I visited this location of Rita’s for an after dinner treat with my family but did not enjoy my visit. We arrived at 9:30 pm, received our treats and decided to eat inside amongst other patrons inside as well. A female employee of oriental descent ( short, chubby with glasses) notified us that they would be closing soon but we could still stay & eat our Italian ice. Other patrons arrive that seem to be friends of the employees and receive free ice cream then they go have a seat inside. I go to the restroom and as I’m coming out the same employee repeats closing time as if I’m oblivious as to when they close and she’s already notified me of this so at this point I feel rushed but their friends weren’t told this at all and stayed inside the store after closing which isn’t right at all. I couldn’t fully enjoy my items with my family without feeling rushed out. We know what time they close and didn’t feel the need for it to be repeated so many times as to make us feel “kicked” out. Rita’s is always good but this location in particular has been especially enjoyable. The staff have all been extremely friendly and welcoming and don’t seem to mind my kids running around & playing in the store (I only let them do this when there are no other customers in the store). I wish I could give them a bonus star for carrying the strawberry flavor. Strawberry is hands-down the best Rita’s flavor (in my wife’s and my opinions) but no Rita’s seems to have them. For the first time in three years, I finally got to have my beloved strawberry flavor here!

The overall atmosphere of the place is nice. It’s very clean and the music isn’t crazy or obnoxious. Great family atmosphere with outdoor seating as well - for those who are not okay with eating ice cream in a well air conditioned room.
