Ok, I have been in this place twice. The first time I tried their prepared food they have on display in a back corner and it was nah!, but I was in the area and I wanted to take my husband. He did not like any of the display food it was really not appealing. In my opinion everything is too salty and too yellow they don't have vegetables on display just extremely overcooked food. The last time I went I try their potato sort of pie and beans they were extremely salty. I also was trying to talk to the owner about chocolate he was extremely dismissive I happen to know a lot about nutrition and I was trying to explain to him about the chocolate they have and he said "chocolate is chocolate" Nope! there is a lot of difference between chocolates the percentage of cacao, the percentage of sugar, and some of them use alkali Dutch processed Cacao, some don't...he should probably get a little bit more knowledge about nutrition or be open to customer opinions and knowledge and also how to combine and attract customers with fresh vegetables, not yellow and overcooked food, maybe the juices and the salads are better and that's what they focus on, I don't know but I'm not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was doing a 40 day fast with my church for lent and was told about this restaurant. After awhile you get tired of eating the same things and fasting really requires you to think outside of the box when so many frequent choices are taken away.
So any who a co-worker told me about this place and one day we went and got lunch! OMG! I shop, go to the library, work, just about everything in Doral and never heard of this place. My absolute favorite is the hummus pastelon. I have some other favorites like the basmati rice and the cabbage and squash. The best part about it is that you have to remind yourself that you're eating vegan food. The smoothies are amazing as well. I usually get the green smoothie; I honestly think that is what it is called. My boyfriend loves the ABC.
If you follow them on Instagram and Facebook, they post their menu every morning so you'll know what's for lunch. I'd suggest going early because if your favorite dish is on the menu it may be gone by the time you can get away. They also have cantina service. You buy a certain amount of meals and they give you a card to punch every time you come.
Definitely give this place a try if you're...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not a vegan. I'm not even vegetarian. My wife, however is vegetarian and brought me here for lunch. Honestly, today I went because I was CRAVING their vegan zucchini and tofu mash. The words vegan and crave are hardly ever in the same sentence for me. There are vegan places which are really good or are just kind-of good or have pitiful portion or the prices verge on robbery or a combination of the above. The portions here are OK, the taste is great and they don't pander to tasting like some meat dish. They are unapologetically vegan and delicious. Yes, you can get a number 2 meal at MickeyD's for a few bucks less, feel like you have to take a nap right after, and order right from your car. However, pay a little more now, feel satiated on truly tasty food and pay less later on prescription meds. I am not giving up on eating meet. Meet is meet and nothing replaces a good steak (so stop trying to be 'meat-ish' vegan/vegetarian places!), but this is one of only two places that this meatetarian craves! The other is Vegan Junkie Burger in Ft. Lauderdale but in order to be more appealing to a general audience, their menu is...
