Chilero — Restaurant in Sycamore Township

Good! This was actually the 3rd place we tried to go to (the first was closed and the second had a 30 min wait) but I'm not sad about it.

It's in an old KFC building and they had like two small tables inside and two small outside. Definitely more of a carryout/ Quick eat but that's not a bad thing.

Have a mix of tacos, tortas, burritos, quesadillas and tostadas. You can get it either traditional or tex mex style. We ended up getting an array of tacos plus the special torta.

The salsas were tasty. I got chips and salsa plus the hot salsa for my food and honestly think the salsa that came with the chips was hotter than the hot. Loved it.

The torta was really good. I wished they put jalapeno on theirs like other places. Their bread was softer / less crusty than others I've had. I like mine with a little more of that crust but my husband thought this was the best since he prefers softer rolls.

Great pork taco. I think it was al pastor and I wanted a bit more pineapple flavor but still really good. My husband loved the chorizo taco.

Didn't see anything kid-wise as far as seating but again more of a carry out place. You could easily get a taco or quesadilla for carryout if you wanted to feed the whole family.

I heard about this place from all the rave reviews and decided to give it a try I’m giving it the four star because of my second trip there (see below) This place is a awesome place for some authentic tacos , very flavorful and delicious I had the quesadilla as well and wow ! Very tasty ! Hubby had the horchata which was pretty good (I snuck a sip) My second trip was brought on because of those yummy quesadillas I wanted more ! Unfortunately not sure why this time they weren’t stuffed like they were the first visit , first visits quesadilla was loaded with everything inside , second trip , just plain chicken and cheese .. nothing more nothing less not sure why or it was just inconsistent that day but to be brutally honest that was disappointing for me , maybe I’ll have to ask for it to be stuffed with everything next time ? Other than that tacos 🌮 are on point I had some left over left them on the counter and my son and hubby devoured them so fast as well as the chicken tamales 🫔 I didn’t even get to try them but they must have been good because the boys inhaled them ! 4/29/23 Very disappointed. According to your posted hours, you're open until 7:00 on Saturdays. The past two Saturdays, nobody answered the phone around 5:00 so I assume you closed early. No tacos tonight! Again.

Update 3/26/22. So disappointed! I had my taste buds all set for their tacos for the past two Saturdays and, although they're supposed to be open until 7pm, when I stopped by around 5:00, they were closed. I even called this afternoon to verify that they'd be open until 7pm. Still love the tacos but I'm not going to drive 15 minutes to find a closed restaurant!
