Where do I start? Wow. My wife and I lived in North Carolina for 16 years. My kids were born there. My little brother lives in Decatur, Ga. We love southern food. We originally were going to try this spot a couple months ago but we had a big group and the dining area is small. There were a couple other tables occupied and no where to put our group of 10 where we could sit together. It was a bummer and we decided to try it again later. Later finally came... why did we wait so long? The chicken sandwiches are somehow bigger and tastier than the pictures. My kids were so excited for collards they ate both orders before finishing their chicken. The jerk has just enough bite to qualify without alienating too many normal people. The Mac bites were well worth the calories. did I mentioned the sandwiches are the size of a dinner plate? Somehow, they are still thick and moist. A true trick of fried goodness. If you’ve ever thought, “What if my dreams, cholesterol, and food coma had a baby?" This place is it. Let's talk about the mac and cheese bowls. These aren't bowls. These are cauldrons of creamy, cheesy wizardry. I swear I heard one of them bubbling. "Feed me, Seymour." Somewhere under the layers of cheese, pasta, and possibly a portal to another dimension, I found my will to live again.

Now the chicken sandwich. Lord have mercy. This thing is the size of a small toddler. You have to cradle it before eating it and bond with it emotionally. There’s no polite way to eat it. You either unhinge your jaw like a python or sign a waiver and dive face first.

Final thoughts: I came in hungry. I left full, spiritually changed, and slightly worried about my arteries. Would I come back? Oh, absolutely. I just need a nap and a support group first.

The service at San Jeanette’s Table is the first thing you notice as you walk in—welcoming, warm, and full of smiles from the lady working the front. It creates a homey atmosphere that makes you feel like you truly belong. There is one person working the front so be patient but it’s worth it. My wife and I are here for the first time, and it’s exciting to see others come in and mention they found this gem through glowing reviews. That energy alone has me looking forward to trying the food next.

After trying the food, I found the wings to be decent in size and taste was simply ok, but the real winner for me was the grits. The chicken in the grits was good, and the dish was satisfying to make...
