Peking Gourmet II — Restaurant in Sylva

Update: 07/12/2024 We decided to try this buffet again. We arrived at 0730PM. The restaurant was basically dead. The lights aren't all on, so it's dark and dingy. We noticed that it was very warm and stuffy when they seated us close to the buffet. My daughter went up to the buffet looking for appetizers. Everything was empty. She found 1 egg roll, 3 crab/cream cheese wonton and a few spring rolls. The egg roll was cold and doughy- could not eat it. The crab/cream cheese wonton have no crab at all. They were cold and chewy. I spoke to the waiter and decided to order off the menu because the buffet items were so bad. We ordered 2 egg rolls, 6 crab/cream cheese, hunan beef, creamy chicken, fried and white rice. Everything was salty except the chicken. Dinner was $40+, we left a $6 tip. We also notices how dirty things were in the restaurant. They have light sconces with some little red birds perched atop, the birds are dusty. The ceiling tiles are stained and look dirty and the aluminum body of each of the buffets was dirty looking, like they had not been properly cleaned. This was a great restaurant years ago- circa 2015. No longer worth the money and isn't a pleasant place to go. The service is excellent. They woman who runs this place, foe as long as I can remember used to take so much pride in it. Now she argues over if you tasted an egg roll and tells the staff not to give to go boxes, but rather bags for certain items. Really sad to see. We will never return. There are other options that are better. Save your time and money.

Food is pricy and they don't put much quantity out on buffet. By 7pm it's dead and they don't put anything out anymore. With a$2 tip, and a soda this will cost...

This place is nothing but a place of crocks they legit charged for Alex 4.00 keep in my mind for eating of his mommys plate! Sometimes that's the only way he will eat. Then said we was just trying to get a free meal when we was not. But by charge a two year old 4.00? When he didn't even eat 4.00 dollars worth of food! Yes my sister did pop off with the f word and they legit called the cops 😂 for saying the f word😂😂 then saying it wasn't aloud 😂 so of course me being the smart Elich I am say it. Then she was like that's it. The cops are on their way 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 yes we did pay for our food but she kept on harassing us about leaving then they proceed to say we do it every time we come in. Yeah well Ryan's Colimas and every single place lets us share off our plates. Then said we was lying about Ryan's and every where else doesn't charge. Then kept on about how we couldn't let him eat off our plates or him get his own plate! Where is he supposed to eat? On the damn floor apparently or on the nasty table? I will not be going back! I am furious! She got my blood boiling. She even came over to our table and push the plate of food alex was eating in his mothers face saying you couldn't do that! They are very rude and inconsiderate just...

I had a bad experience today. I was embarrassed and was highly offended by the woman at the front. My mother and I went to have lunch. We both got a plate from the buffet and did not like the food. We tried our best to try and stomach it. I new my mother was just disgusted and I did not want to make eat it. So we went to the front to pay for the little chicken I ate and for the drinks. I told the lady quietly and politely we didn't like the food. She got very loud and told us we still had to pay for the food we didn't eat. She said it was policy. I ask her to show me the policy she did not. I asked to talk to a supervisor or a manager. She said no manager no supervisor. I asked to talk to someone. She gave me a number that was not the manager or owner. She was yelling to everyone leaving and coming in "THEY DONT PAY FOR THIER FOOD"!!! It was so embarrassing and she would not let my mother step in the foyer to sit down. She demanded she stay! I told her I just want to pay for only what I ate and my drinks. She said she would call the police. I told her I would.. and I did. The police officer handled the situation and he set us free from mean Chinese lady. So...
