If you're looking for a restaurant that delivers both flavor and personality, Bowls and Cheers Asian American Bistro is a must-visit. I had the pleasure of trying the Bruce Almighty Burger with fries, and I’m still thinking about it days later.
The burger was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly cooked to order, juicy, and packed with flavor. Whatever secret sauce they use is next-level, and the toppings balanced the richness with just the right amount of crunch and zest. The fries? Golden, crisp, and the perfect companion to the burger without stealing the spotlight.
The place's vibe is welcoming and energetic, blending Asian-American cuisine in a way that feels both comforting and inventive. Every item I saw food come out of the kitchen it looked like it was made with care and creativity.
Whether you're craving bold Asian flavors or a next-level burger experience, Bowles and Cheers delivers on all fronts. I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I might just try Lumpia and Miso ramen!
Highly recommended. Five stars without hesitation.
Follow-up visit as promised!
I came back to Bowls and Cheers for a second visit—and once again, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
This time, I tried the BBQ ribs, and they were incredible—juicy, tender, and coated in a sweet, flavorful glaze that made every bite satisfying. The blackened tilapia was another standout: perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and not a hint of that fishy taste you sometimes get elsewhere. It was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right.
I also had the pork lumpia and pancit lumpia, both served with Thai sweet chili sauce—a brilliant pairing. The lumpia were crispy, savory, and absolutely delicious, and the chili sauce added just the right amount of sweet heat. The pancit lumpia was a creative twist that worked perfectly, giving that classic pancit flavor a fun, crunchy presentation.
As always, the sides didn't disappoint. The steamed rice was fresh and fluffy, and the sweet seasoned corn was a comforting, flavorful touch.
A special shoutout to owners Matt and Vanessa, who provided a sample tasting of several items during the visit. Their warmth and hospitality are part of what makes this place so special. It's always a welcoming environment with friendly faces and great food.
Bowles and Cheers continue to impress. If you haven't been yet, you're truly...
Read moreThis place was awesome 😎 the owner is so cool! Makes you feel really comfortable and will make sure you are satisfied with your dish. She understands that your hard earned money isn't just paper and if your not eating the dish you ordered she will ask "what's wrong? Do you not like it?" She will offer you something else on the house, making sure you leave full and happy 😊. There are games and even a karaoke machine while waiting for your main courses or even your appetizers. The food is great, authentic made with care and from the heart. She will explain every detail and ingredient that is in it, making you want every single dish!! I was salivating on the third dish she talked about, but the fourth one hands down, give me it now! She makes you so hungry the way she talks about these dishes 🤤 My stepmother was offered to make a chili verde sauce for her mini empanadas. The conversation that she had with us was very enlightening and indulging making us feel part of her restaurant. She is a really great kind-hearted person and the reason why we went to this place is because she had five star ratings across the board. Even in Syracuse cities community center it was hyped up. Yes, it may be a little expensive ranging from 15 to $20 a plate but it is so worth it and you will never ever leave feeling like you've been gotten! All the food is fresh and the deep fryer oil is constantly changed giving the chicharones, chicken, and everything else deep fried a very clean, crisp with no weird awkward taste. I love her extra work and am very happy she's in my local community. Her concern is very sincere and food quality is clean authentic Philipino mixed with a slight Americano. Try this place out. You will not be disappointed!! We also got some appetizers I wasn't able to show because she hyped us up with all of the food and she even gave us a free extra appetizer to try out which was amazing!! One was a vegetarian egg roll, and the other was a mix with I think beef.. the dipping sauce for each were good. They are fresh, and really hot, so be careful eating them once they arrive. My father was served first and wasn't able to get his dish too. It was a Skillet with a raw egg thrown on top when it arrived, cooking with the food, and hot skillet. His was very delicious 😋 as well.
I'd say more of $15-$25...

My friends and I had lunch today at the newly opened Bowls and Cheers – Asian American Bistro, located where Jin’s used to be. It’s a quaint and cozy spot, and we were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in.
We each ordered a different dish that sounded good and shared them to get a taste of everything. The food presentation was impressive, and the flavors did not disappoint! Portions were generous and definitely shareable. The owner, who is Filipino, brings a fantastic take on Filipino dishes, adding a delicious and authentic touch.
What made the experience even better was that the owner/chef personally stopped by our table to introduce herself and ask for our feedback. It was a nice touch that showed her passion for her food and customers.
Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to try flavorful...
