ANTHEM Coffee & Tea | Point Ruston — Restaurant in Tacoma

Ive been to Anthem before while working in the Ruston area. Today, I brought my wife in while running errands. Sadly, our experience was lacking. Mainly it is the quality I'm writing about. When you spend over $35 for 2 drinks and sandwiche type food, you're hoping for some tasty treats. I had the breakfast burrito. It looked good, but honestly, I did not taste the eggs or sausage. The whole wrap was almost vacant of taste. My latte, had little to no coffee taste at all. Perhaps it was just steamed 1% milk? My wife had a strawberry smoothie with peanut butter & protein powder. That drink was primarily peanut butter and oddly, it wasn't very could. Smoothies usually are like milkshakes or fraps...this one was as cold as tepid water. My wife's sandwich was cream cheese on a bagel. That wasn't bad, but hard to mess that up. Im sorry to write this - we sat long enough to eat the food, as we were pretty hungry, but ended up leaving to the next errand, where we tossed the drinks. I tried my wife's smoothie before tossing, to verify her thoughts and agreed. Ill never go back, especially at those prices. Got Anthem for the first time and first time at this location. I had high hopes with how busy it was, but it was such a let down. Coffee was less than mediocre. One of our lattes was nothing but sugary flavoring, the other was a plain latte without any syrups or sweeteners but it tasted extremely watered down. Neither tasted like there was coffee in them but I knew there was because I saw them pour the shots into the cups. This leads me to believe the coffee is either very poor quality and extremely week or their machine is broken. The other low point was paying $8 for avocado toast that was so small both pieces of toast were only 2 bites each. The avocado was basically store bought guacamole which wasn't even fresh since it was starting to turn black. I've had both better coffee and better food from a gas station.

After spending over $34 for two 24 oz lattes which we threw out after a couple swigs and two avocado toasts the size of a sample at a super market, I'm definitely not impressed with anything here and I have no urge to even...

I've usually always had good service here, but today was pretty awful. I ordered two 20oz coffees and proceeded to wait. There's usually a bit of a wait, but today was of course particular long at about 15min. Okay, no big deal. Then the barista hands me one 20oz and one 12oz coffee. I asked her if there was a 20oz coming and she sharply said "no, there's one 20oz and one 12oz" and immediately walked away. So I stand there waiting somewhat in disbelief wondering what my next move is whether I should re-order or wait for someone to talk to? Another 5 min goes by and she finally acknowledges me again saying "I only made what was on the order and there wasn't another 20oz" and walked away again without being able to get a word in. Like, I understand you only make what is on the order, but she didn't even try to resolve the situation in which I've now waited over 20min at this point and didn't receive what I ordered. There was a giant line and needed to go, so unfortunately I left unsatisfied with a 12oz. What happened to...
