Buffalo Wild Wings — Restaurant in Tacoma

Hello again everyone in welcome to one of my other reviews. Today I will be reviewing Buffalo wild wings in Tacoma from our visit on Saturday July 22nd 2023. Now they have three locations in Tacoma so the one I'm reviewing is 4219 South Steele Street right next to Krispy Kreme. I will try not to make this too drawn out. they have a lot of TVs so that atmosphere is pretty good when you walk in. We didn't have a long wait so I won't discuss it cuz that completely varies on the time of day you go but once we sat down our waitress came right over within a few minutes. The biggest problem we had with our waitress and was a huge Red flag is she just plopped down in our booth like a family member. With or without covid I do not like anyone but my own family to be sitting down in my booth so that was a negative right there. Now we are from South Florida we've had a ton of chicken wings over the years but I'm telling you now you should dial down your order because I ordered medium and that was fine I could have done probably better with just mild or the level that's just under medium I don't remember what it is. I love the wings the way they have them here unlike battered wings let's say like at Hooters. My wife for some reason wanted hot wings cuz she thought she medium was too easy for her but hot was way too hot even for me. So the spice level is different in different restaurants what's medium in one is not exactly medium in another so if you are typically getting medium I would order one or two levels under because there's seem to be spicier. Here's my second gripe with my wages we ordered a second round of chocolate milk and lemonade and the girl disappeared for 10-15 minutes!!! So my wife's mouth is burning from the hot wing she had and mine is a little too and we couldn't get any help for quite a while so we were really upset which sadly reflected in her tip. Our daughter has some kind of chicken sandwich but she didn't really like it either. No fear we normally tip very well because we do reviews quite often not to say she got a $1 tip because of course that's not the case. I'm going to include a few pictures we went in the afternoon so parking was absolutely no problem the only other thing is unfortunately you can't fault the restaurant for people around you cuz we had four or five idiot college guys sitting behind his cursing and talking a bunch of crap. My wife order food on line, food was for her and our kids. Website stated that the order was supposed to be ready by 7:00pm , I showed up at 6:55pm to let them know that I was there. The guys who was on charge of the Togo food just printed a receipt and told me that the food was going to be ready shortly. We were at least 6 or 7 people waiting for orders. The guy went to bathroom and came back 10 minutes later. People asked him for orders and he went to the kitchen and about 10 minutes later came back wit 2 orders which none of the were ours. He went back to the kitchen and never came back. One of the ladies waiting for food flagged down the bartender to check on her food. 10 minutes later this guy came back with some of ours food. The whole time that I was there (which was 35 minutes to be exact) I never saw a manager or other team member helping the only persons taking care of the Togo. When my wife got home and opened the bag, she found out that the box that contained her wing wasn’t all the way closed and the wing were at the bottom of the bag, food was cold at this point and one of our kids meals was missing the fries. My wife called later and spoke with Ethan to let him know the issue, and Ethan told her that he was going to refund her money and it was going to take 5 days since it was the weekend. Thursday came and money wasn’t back yet so she called back again and this time she spoke with Aaron. First he was trying to tell my wife that it was a 3rd party delivery and that she should call them, my waive explained that she order through the website and scheduled to pick up, she told him that I (her husband) came inside and pick it up. Well Aaron was a little rude about it and told her that he needed to confirm with Ethan to make sure she wasn’t lying about it. Wow. I do not know what is happening at this location but today was an absolute mess. I am usually a very patient person and as someone with years in restaurant management and the service industry i am usually very understanding. However, today was something else. I placed a mobile order and upon arrival waited for about 10 minutes at the take out counter. Made eye contact with the bartender and servers multiple times so surely i thought someone would be on their way to at least check in at some point. Eventually I had to stop a server to ask them if i could get some assistance at the take out counter.

After a few more minutes a man comes up with take out bags and just says "name?". I tell him and he hands me the bag and nothing else. Whatever, things happen I left and drove home to eat. When I arrived home i realized that they gave me bone in wings instead of boneless wings. I decided to call and see if i could get a refund.

The GM Aaron spoke with me and for some reason he was having a lot of trouble understanding me when i explained that i ordered boneless and got bone in by mistake. He ended up re reading me my receipt to me! For the third time I told him "yes i ordered boneless and received wings with the bone in". He then wanted to make sure that i knew i would only get refunded for the wings that were wrong. I dont know if the entire conversation was a genuine misunderstanding or if he truly is just that condescending of a person but at this point I was very frustrated.

This entire experience was terrible and I am hoping this was a one time thing. If i was shown a semblance of customer service at any point today i wouldn't have been prompted to leave my first google review ever on a BWW page...
