I wanted to give this a better review. The food that did come out was tasty enough especially the pasta. We waited a fair amount of time to be sat. We waited a long time to have menus and our orders taken. We waited longer than that to get food, so long that the waitress brought bread out because it had been an hour since we ordered and my husband had already had to run to the car for snacks twice for our one year olds. The only thing that kept us there was the hope that within the next few minutes we would have the food that we ordered for our babies and the worry that if we left we wouldn't be able to get them dinner on time. That was a bad bet to make it would turn out. The highlight of the experience unfortunately has been the lesson that when it's taken almost an hour to order after you've sat down, you've already waited too long. Then our food arrived and it wasn't what we ordered. We didn't get end up ever receiving what we ordered. Instead we received a bill on which the waitress let us know she wasn't able to figure out how to discount it so she took off the bread she brought to tide the babies over while they waiting through their second hour in highchairs. We had originally ordered bread, so we ended up with two. No attempt was made other than that to correct for us receiving the wrong dish. I won't personally go back. I wouldn't recommend anyone with children go here. I wouldn't recommend anyone on a tight schedule go here. I wouldn't recommend anyone with dietary...
Read moreWe decided to try out Johnny's Dock on a warm summer evening. First time there since they reopened under new ownership. The deck setting was pleasant and peaceful. We decided to order a beverage. The wine list was minimal-4 choices: Brut, one red wine, one white and a Prosecco. Three of us decided to share a bottle of Prosecco. Our waiter, although friendly and attentive, had no clue about the drink menu. He went to place our order with the bartender, but returned to say that they only had single serve bottles of Prosecco. He kept returning to the bar and finally brought out a bottle in a chilled container. It wasn't Prosecco; it was labeled Brut. We decided to give it a try. One sip-awful. It tasted bitter and was dark in color (maybe old)? We refused to drink it. The manager came to our table and apologized. I decided to order a gin and tonic. How could that go wrong? Well, couldn't drink that either! Tonic was flat, bad tasting gin and no lime! Requested a lime and received a plate with a slice of lemon! Decided I'd be fine with just water. Food was fine but we had to request utensils. We were not charged for our beverages, thankfully. I know that this restaurant has not been open long but surely staff training could...
Read moreCame in late August for a lunch with a friend. Place was nearly empty (and now I understand why). Waited over 20 minutes for any kind of service. Finally my friend asked a server waiting on all other tables on the deck if he was our server. "I could be" was the answer after which he disappeared. A little while later Mark hustles over apologizing and finally getting us water and taking our order. I must say he truly earned his tip, but this place has some serious kinks to work out. I didn't get my starter salad until after receiving my main course and inquiring about it. Ordered Shrimp Scampi and received a plate of linguini drenched in what looked and tasted like the chef started to make Alfredo sauce and halfway realized it was supposed to be scampi. The garlic bread was topped with a weird topping so sweet I thought the pastry chef made it. My friend's rice had the texture of yesterday's rice warmed over. The menu looks interesting, and the place looks nice, but my idea of a date night at this place will be on hold until I hear that things...
