Greater Tacoma Convention Center – A Great Venue for Events

We’ve been to the Greater Tacoma Convention Center multiple times for gymnastics competitions, and it’s consistently a great experience.

The facility is spacious and well-organized, making it easy to navigate even during large events. The layout allows for plenty of viewing space, and the overall atmosphere is well-suited for competitions and gatherings.

One of the highlights is the convenient location—there are plenty of great spots to grab food before or after an event, which is a big plus when you’re spending a full day at the venue.

Parking has never been an issue for us. The available options make it easy to get in and out without unnecessary hassle, which is something we definitely appreciate.

Overall, it’s a solid convention center, well-suited for sporting events, conferences, and large gatherings. If you’re headed there for an event, you can expect a well-maintained, efficient, and...

A big big convention center. A lot of stairs, and a lot of escalators, and lot of bathroom, and lot of chairs, and lot of tables, and a lot of meeting space, it is a good place to have conventions because you will need a lot of those things, and you need a lot of place for people to park. Oh speaking of parking, there were only 15 parking spaces available. The convention can probably host 700 people, but or 700 people need to cram into 15 little cars.

The convention center is climate-controlled. It is 70 degrees inside cloudy no rain and you have Windows to look outside.

The escalator is confusing. It stops on the first and the third floor, but not on the second floor. So if you want to go to the second floor, the escalator won't take you there. You have to...

This convention center is ridiculous. I've been here for dance competition for my daughter's dance team. We aren't allowed to bring food in to feed the girls. And because it's a DANCE competition they need to warm up before each performance, but they don't let the girls use the space in the vacant halls. Tacoma on the evenings and weekends is closed down. This place doesn't provide food but for a few hours at lunch on Saturday. So we go the few places open to provide it our selfs. Some parents try to sneak food in from home because they have girls performing multiple numbers. But if you get caught they make you get rid of it. They should really take note from the Oregon Convention Center. They know how to...

I came.here for a karate tournament my daughter was performing in. From everything I saw this place is too notch. I was there maybe 5 hrs. Staff was professional and the event was serious business to them. Parking was good in a garage. There's 2 options for time to be parked there. I sit. Remember the shorter time but the all day was $16. I'd attend another event here with no reservation

The NW Pinball and Arcade Show is a must visit every year in the PNW and the Tacoma Convention Center makes it really easy to attend. Great connections and air conditioning systems make it comfortable. I do wish there were better food options though. The "Aramark" food is getting old. Can't wait to come back next year!!

We reserved the convention center for a holiday party. The area was smaller than we expected and needed. The staff were very accommodating and for a small charge were able to expand the party space for us. The photo of the space with tables and chairs was prior to adding additional space to the room.
