What can I say. The non fat latte with honey is the stuff of legend. Yes, with honey. You absolutely need to try it. The service here is epic. There is some local art, and you can also find rocks and stickers left for the taking. It's a chill space with amazing energy..come as you are. Stay for a minute or bring a biscuit to have with your coffee. Got kids? No problem! There are sometimes crayons and paper to draw and doodle on. Got doggos? No problem? They sit outside nicely....cause I love to pet them all (when allowed). Hey local bands, these guys LOVE to support local. My band has been allowed to put up countless gig posters on their windows too. And don't forget the coffee in bulk. By the pound, or half-pound. They'll grind it too based on what you brew it in. Guilded Lilly guitarist Troy had a vanilla latte with honey and it said it was the best thing he ever drank. You won't be sorry to go here. You can even tell 'em Nancy or Guilded Lilly sent you (for the chuckle).

I’ve been in Tacoma for almost a month and have tried many local coffee spots—including Bluebeard—but this place stands out above the rest. Hands down, it’s the most unique and interesting coffee I’ve had so far. I ordered a latte with oat milk, and the flavor was unlike anything I’ve tasted before. It had a complex, layered structure with a smooth, nutty finish—the kind that lingers just long enough to make you pause and appreciate it. The final note of that nutty aftertaste was deeply satisfying. One thing to note: they don’t offer any pastries. But honestly, I see that as a sign of confidence. This is a coffee shop that clearly knows its strength and doesn’t rely on baked goods to bring people in. The coffee is the main event—and it more than delivers.

I always order an iced oat milk honey latte, nothing crazy. I got a medium one here and it was $8.52, just seems really small for a medium and for almost $10. The coffee was good but nothing crazy. The customer service waxes and wanes on friendliness. Kind of an overstimulating environment trying to squeeze by the line to go pick up your coffee. I live near here so I like to walk my dog and treat myself to a coffee I just wish they had an online service of some sort so you could order ahead of time because it’s kind of stressful walking my dog and then trying to go order real quick while I have her tied up outside. It’s okay. I may try a few more times because I love supporting local businesses but it’s been mid so far for the price.

Valhalla earned 5 stars with me on my first visit, then on my second time there, it exceeded that. I am now a Viking convert. Please spare me the conquering battles, but this mix is my idea of heaven! Just looking at it (Inhale!) tells plenty about the blend: glossy dark, dark beans stand out among the varying shades of brown. And whatever the beans are, the combo is divine! Now for the ultimate deal-maker: this morning I went to score some pounds to take home to Vermont when my visit here is over, and my daughter's previously "perfect" car needed a jump. Boo hoo. So I went back in and asked the folks at Valhalla if anyone had cables. Yup, the roaster guy did, but I'd need to wait a few until he could interrupt his work. Fine. Meanwhile, in walks a guy who somehow finds out what is going on and offers to jump the car. Turns out this was AJ, one of the owners of the place, and he would use the Valhalla van to help me.Yippee! Help me he did, and on top of that he gave a stellar reference to Precision Auto, just across 6th from his place of business. So I drove over and found a clean, happening mechanics' shop and shut off the car again. At the end of the day the car was fixed, the Precision owner, I think, waited almost a half hour after closing time for me to beat feet to pick up the...

I had just flown in from LA on an early morning flight and as I approached Tacoma I decided to stop for some coffee. It seemed like I had passed more than a dozen SB’s along the way, but they are just not my sort of thing. So I googled “best coffee in Tacoma” and Valhalla appeared at the top of the list. So on a lark, I punched the “directions” tab and arrived here. The street and the exterior appeared to be somewhat nondescript. Yet, one step inside, just one whiff of that unmistakable aroma of a coffee Roastery and finally one look at the decor which exuded such character. I knew that I was in luck. I ordered a cappuccino in a glass cup. I was pre-warned that it would take a few minutes, I was OK with that, since results, not speed matter to me. And I can say this as a coffee connoisseur, and someone not prone to exaggeration, that this was the best cappuccino I have ever had in my entire life. I normally order my own fair trade small batch Kava Forest Ethiopian coffee directly, I fresh burr grind and use high pressure controlled pull espresso machines. I can never make anything as good as what I had today. I am here for another day, and I hope to go back and get some tips on how they are able to achieve...

I was waffling between getting a latte or a mocha. After talking with the attendant she informed me that they have a vegan option for the chocolate. So I had the option of the non-vegan or the vegan. And after asking her how sweet was the mocha, letting her know I don't care for it being too sweet. She assured me it was a nice balanced sweetness. So I went with the 16oz vegan mocha with hemp milk. (Oh yes! extra points from me for having hemp milk🥰). The mocha was perfect. They don't offer any food. And I was informed that was because the owners want to focus solely on high quality coffee. And roasting coffee. However, your welcome to bring in food from home or from other shops. She said they have no problem with that.

The atmosphere was very pleasant quiet and comfy. Seating is limited. Two or three tables and chairs along the wall. And a lower bar with several seats at the front window.. The kind of place to come in solo or with a friend for a coffee and chat. Or to sit and read or do some studying. This place is a great find. If your in the neighborhood or near by and not sure where to go for delicious coffee or mocha Valhalla Coffee Co. Is a...
